    Carers allowance means test calculation.

Morning everybody. Just an up on my earlier query. I have now taken early retirement and have been awarded carers benefit to look after my mum. I have been given the opportunity for some part time work (12 hours a week) in a job that would be perfect for me and would be for the hours outside...

    Carers allowance means test calculation.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be eligible for that. I'm a pre 95 civil servant. I'm taking cost neutral early retirement. EDIT. Just had a read of the requirements for eligibility of carers benefit and it seems that if you can pay class B PRSI you can be eligible. I will get in touch with Social...

    Carers allowance means test calculation.

Hi. I am going to be taking early retirement from the Civil Service in March with the aim of looking after my mother who has Parkinson's. I was looking at the eligibility criteria for getting the carers allowance but I think I will not be getting it. Myself and my partner are seperatly...

Best way of supplementing lump sum pension with AVC for early retirement - Pre 95 Civil Servant

I was considering that also. I dont just want to retire and not work in some capacity. I am currently studying Data Analytics so I would like to move into that area in a part time capacity next year. If my age is against me for jobs in that market I would work in a shop or anywhere really on a...

Hi everybody. Apologies if this has been asked before but I am working in the Civil Service and am considering taking early retirement next year on my 53rd birthday. I used the cost neutral early retirement modeller and based on my current salary of 61,500 approx. I would get a tax free lump...

Switching mortgage providers and getting a top up loan

Hi. I am planning to switch mortgage providers now that I am out of my 3 year fixed rate with PTSB. Kbc seem to be the best option but I am wondering if they would do a top up loan for home improvement and to pay off my car loan of 9k My mortgage payment is currently 1150 but if I switch to KBC...

Releasing equity in our Mortgage. Is it possible at the moment?

Thought I would give an update on my original post. I had a meeting with a mortgage broker last week in Dublin. With his help I have applied to 4 different banks for a switcher mortgage with equity release and to pay off our BOI personal loan. The broker seems to think that everything should be...

    top up mortgages and switching?

Thanks Bikini Widow for that info. Its interesting. I have approached PTSB about moving my mortgage to them. I have an appointment next week so I am going to ask about the top up at the meeting and see what is said. At the very least I will be saving €65 a month if I move my mortgage to PTSB.

Releasing equity in our Mortgage. Is it possible at the moment?

We are not actually having problems paying my loans. I just dont have much spare cash left at the end of the month. I could offset my CU shares against the loan but that would only reduce my total monthly outgoings by approx €200 a month. If I could go down the remortgage route I could reduce my...

Releasing equity in our Mortgage. Is it possible at the moment?

I just had a look on the Pepper Website. It seems that they only deal with certain areas in Ireland. Unfortunately Cavan is not one of them.

Releasing equity in our Mortgage. Is it possible at the moment?

Hi. I’m looking for some advice and thought I would ask here. Myself and my partner are homeowners, both working in full time jobs in the Civil Service. We earn €40,000 each (before pension deductions etc) Through some bad decisions on our part over the years we have accumulated a fair bit of...

Fingal CoCo allow AH owners to let hse on temporary basis - how about DCC?

Does anybody know if Dublin City council plan to adopt a similar plan? I know somebody struggling to pay the mortgage on their affordable house. They have been trying to rent out a room with no luck but have the chance to rent out the whole house (they are going to move in with a friend). They...

Stamp duty on a house that is not completed.

I was on myhome.ie earlier enquiring about stamp duty rates on new homes and read the following Stamp Duty Rates on New Homes: Other Buyers: For all other owner-occupiers* the stamp duty rate on new homes depends on the floor area of the property. There is no stamp duty on new homes for...

Lots of viewings but no offers!

I sold my house just over a year ago and have been renting ever since. I am now considering buying again and got mortgage approval a month ago for 250,000. Over the last month have been looking at some houses. The thing is though there is so much choice out there. I am in no rush to buy. I want...

Max LTV mortgage for second time buyers

Well the house we are looking at is a builders finish so we would need to get wardrobes, white goods etc. Also we would have to pay solicitors fees and we will need to buy a car (a cheap second hand one) as the house is quiet rural and is 20 miles from work. At the moment we are renting a house...
