    Flyers/Leaflets experience?

I would consider using Facebook advertising it is alot cheaper and more effective than using leaflets. The big benefit is you can easily target certain groups,, i.e just show this advert to people females aged 25 - 40 years of old who live in Dublin who are interested in gardening.. etc. etc...

CU refused to take Public Services Card as proof of PPSN

That seems daft alright,, I wonder is it for practical reasons isn't the PPSN on the back of a Public Service Card? So when they scan it in can they prove they are one and the same?

    Gender Pay gap

The highest paid group working in London are Irish Women, earning more on average then men.. of course no one cares about this particular gender Pay gap. I don't agree with any form of positive discrimination based on sex,, I don't think for a second my daughter has less of a chance of earning...

Credit Union loan: more expensive because I have to keep my shares?

With the Credit Union loan there are no penalties for paying off the 25k loan early.. so when the balance of the loan drops to 7k or below you can then use this saving to pay the loan off right away. So its not really like paying interest on that 7k. You are paying on the 18k. But whatever...

Who speaks for the squeezed middle in the pre-budget submissions?

Only Public Sector Unions speak for this group,,, the decline of unions in the private sector have lead to wages remaining static while those at the top have seen their wages balloon to obscene levels.. My opinion of unions (and I am not part of any myself) has changed over the last few...

    Mortgage Overpayment Calculation

If you got a call from your lender saying reduction in future repayments will be so negligible that even if I was to overpay by €300 per month They need to stop telling you porkies... (300 euro would save you about 54k in repayments). Check out a decent repayments calculator at...

How much do one parent families in Ireland get in social welfare and other benefits??

It would be interesting to add it all up. The HAP Rent allowance rates for a single mother with one child would be €1,250 per month in Dublin City Council, the same person working part time would be also entitled to affordable child care payments 80 euro per week if they work part-time. They...

Has anyone used PCP to finance a used car?

Not sure I get the benefit of this deal.. can't I just sell my car privately, take a KBC car loan out for 6.3% and use the money to buy the second hand car myself.. that way, I would own the car and not the car garage.

First Time Buyer - Negative Equity Concerns

I am not sure a separate dwelling (granny flat) falls under the rent a room tax-free allowance bracket. so you should factor that in... I would factor in the additional cost of putting the house right,, if there is work that needs doing.. on the face of it 500k sounds like a lot for the area...

Is PCP a good way to finance a car?

Certainly a credit bubble in the PCP market, and yes it definitely will burst. They have a fairly slick operation in the car garages, take it for a test drive,, a quick bit of paperwork and it's yours. The alarm bells ring of course when you see the Central Bank NOT including this in the...

Where can I get the KBC "Standard Valuation Form?"

Just noticed this myself,, my valuation was yesterday. Will confirm with KBC,, I would have thought what ever the format once it contains the 1-3 items and it is from one of the approved estate agents it is sufficient. In addition to the procedure and guidance notes accepted by you on your...
