AIB AIB pre 2006 tracker - got it back today

We received our letter from AIB today along with redress/compensation cheque. No idea how they came to the figure, it states in the letter that they will write to us within the next 4 months and that will detail how the calculations were done. Hard to believe it's finally sorted. Thank you...

AIB Appeal to Panel successful. Got tracker rate back from when I tried to break out of fixed rate

@Miraculous - we have a similar story in that we fixed in 2007 but for 5 years. In 2009 we requested the breakout costs and like you we wouldn't have worked out too much better off on the variable considering the size of the breakout fee but had it been back to tracker, that would have been a...

AIB AIB pre 2006 tracker - got it back today

Congrats Eamon, great news. We are in same boat. Rate was corrected on 31st Jan but no correspondence yet. I wonder how long we'll have to wait for a letter... It's hard to accept until you see it in writing!

AIB Pre Feb 2006 AIB trackers

We are pre-2006 also and just checked the account... rate was amended to correct Tracker rate yesterday!!!!! We were also informed last year in a letter from AIB that we were not deemed impacted. We haven't had any correspondence yet from the bank but will update when that happens. Padraic...

AIB AIB Data Protection request - omitted key information

I should have spotted it - but when I requested all of our documentation, I assumed I got all of my documentation. Silly me. We also had an earlier letter of offer which we didn't go for so there were a couple of copies of that and other misc pages mixed in together - so it wasn't presented in...

AIB AIB Data Protection request - omitted key information

No Brendan, I'm not suggesting they 'edited' anything, they just didn't send me ALL of the pages. They sent me Parts 1, 2 6 and 7 of the Mortgage contract documentation, along with various letters of correspondence etc, parts 3,4 & 5 weren't included at all. I only realised this when they sent a...

AIB AIB Data Protection request - omitted key information

We requested and got a copy of our AIB mortgage docs in April 2006 and they omitted sections 3 and 4 from it. I don't have the original T&Cs document so didnt realise it until after Padraic Kissane queried our account with them and they sent him a copy of the entire document (including sections...

Who got good news and who got bad news yesterday?

Agreed. I think all tracker accounts are within the scope of the investigation, the question is are the AIB pre-2006 accounts deemed as impacted, 2 different issues being confused in the article.

Who got good news and who got bad news yesterday?

Pre-2006 cases mentioned today... https://www.rte.ie/news/business/2018/0108/931831-pre-2006-mortgages-included-in-tracker-probe-mcgrath/ No specifics but at least it's something...

Who got good news and who got bad news yesterday?

We are in the pre-2006 AIB cohort and as yet have had no communication from them. As they have described it, you would imagine we would fall into that category but I guess it's a wait and see...

"Compensation to be paid by Christmas" headline - Beware

I emailed every member of the Dail :) http://www.oireachtas.ie/parliament/contact/ Probably slight overkill but hey, this issue is never going to be as front and centre as it is now, so lets all make the most of it. Tell them your story, include the impact it has had on you and your family. A...

AIB Early Tracker - Letter of Offer question

Just to update my mystery of no clause 3.2 in my mortgage docs.... I submitted a data access request to AIB last year (prior to any contact with them in relation to losing my tracker) for all and any mortgage-related documents and therefore *thought* I had all of my documentation. On recieving...

Padraig Kissane presenting to the Oireachtas Finance Committee next Tuesday, 21st

Am thinking about travelling up on Tues. Can anyone advise as to access to the public gallery, are you guaranteed to get in or it limited in space? It would be a 5 hr round trip so just want to make sure I'd actually get in!
