    Hi All, My mother wants to gift me 20k to pay for upgrades to my home (new windows etc). Am I right in saying all I can get is 3000 and then will have to pay tax on the other 17000? Sorry if its a dumb ass question. Trying to understand CAT. thanks folks.

    Hi Brendan, A couple of quick questions. I got the rate sheet back from UB and their 5 year fixed rate was 2.45%. They have my LTV at 80% but I think ti should be much lower than this. They also have a 10 year fixed rate of 2.95. If I fix and go off the tracker does my mortgage still go to AIB...

    Howdy Folks, on a tracker mortgage but have a sub-mortgage on a variable rate 4.30%. I have the option of switching to a 10, 5, 4 or 2 year fixed rate. I was thinking of switching to the 4 year fixed at 2.25%. It will save me 30 euros month. Is it worth doing? Any pitfalls I should be aware of...
