If I setup a sole trader business and I am still working full time for another company(full PAYE), if I have losses in the sole trader business can I claim these off my Paye income for up to 3 years?
I submit a firm 11 each year and my wife submits a form 12.
If we want to file a joint return for our tax year 2018 do we have to inform the revenue now or can I just do the joint return in October 2019.
Not sure if this is the correct forum but here goes
My wife has share options in a us multinational where she works and she wants to sell them even though she could hold them for another few years. The difference between the option and the sale price is approx $15 per share.
What tax will she...
I am with AIB at present on rate of 2.95% but I have a LTV of less than 50% but they won't give me the 2.75%.
If I move to Haven how long do I have to stay with them as I would live to move back to AIB again.
When I bough the house it need a lot of work so extra payments to the mortgage, €80k spent on renovations and an increase in house prices has brought me under the 50% LTV.
Ya the terms of the mortgage were that I could not change bands so looks like no choice only change to Haven, does not make...
I took out mortgage with AIB in November 2016 for €200k at the variable rate which is now 2.95%. On top of the mortgage I have paid another 15k off it I always like to hit the mortgage. My issue is my LTV is less than 50% now it was just over the 50%LTV when I bought it But I have asked AIB what...

Uk registered company with very same name registered in Ireland as a branch. This individual has liquidated a few companies in the past with debt am I going to be a victim here .... looks like it...something not right...
Can you liquidate a branch and not affect the parent company?
Yes and no. I have a large tax credit because of 3 disabled children and I don't reach that threshold so then I would only pay USC on the €4,000 and prsi I presume
Ok I understand form 12 ok if less than the €5,000 BUT if more you have to do form 11. For me it is about €4,000 a year, can I give him a receipt for the work with just my name on it then?
I am full time employed BUT I do a few nixers (painting etc) for a man that has a Few rental properties and he wants a receipt for the work from now on which makes sense for tax purposes.
Can I just put these in the form12 every year? I don't have to setup as a sole trader?
Thanks
I have a figure of €1 million to have in my pension pot when I retire in 20 years time. If a person has €500k in their now and made no contribution for the next 20 years would it be off the scale to think I would have €1 million in their at 65.Company plan so charges would be low
Thanks for the response.

I have been investing with an Irish Life Assurance company since May 1994. I started off in 2004 paying €342.83 twice a year and in 2016 I paid €955.12 twice a year also. It goes up by 5% each year to take in to account inflation.
According to my calculations I have paid in €25,361.54 and it is...

Was gifted a site by my parents to build my primary dwelling so no stamp duty or tax etc. planning was given on 0.5 acres as this is min to build a house on.
But this where it gets complicated turns out the site was only 0.37 acres not enough to build a house on it.
1. If...
