Leaving extension lead plugged in - cost and fire hazard?

No problem with it, I leave extensions plugged in a lot. Just as long as the load isn't huge (charging phones, straighteners etc.) then you'll be fine. If you want to be extra safe just get a food quality [broken link removed] in there. It's unlikely to go on fire but if it does, it's when...

    Udemy courses (and similar)

I think cheap online courses are a great way to confirm an interest that you have before paying for a more expensive one. But it really depends on what you want to get into. For IT and marketing jobs, degrees are not important when compared to real life experience so volunteeer work in that area...

    Being frozen out at work

Hi Toni, This sounds really hard. You've worked there so long, it's a shame they don't have a higher value on you. I don't think you're being overly sensitive.

I use the Garden to Think and Pause; Not for Feline Paws

https://www.wikihow.com/Repel-Cats Above gives some ideas but none are great. Especially since you're trying to fend off so many, I doubt shouting "shoo!" isn't going to do much good

Weetabix are 3.5c each in Lidle (72 pack). Normally >10c each in Dunnes etc

€4/day to park in Lidl Tallaght.

Yes, they go around and tage your reg number and if you're still there in a few hours, they give you a ticket. I don't see any signs that say how long you can be there though

"Ditch the lattes if you want to save up the deposit on a house"

If you did give up the gym/clubs, you might save some money but what about health costs and loss of those happy endorphins you get from the gym? Benefit definitely outweighs the cost, plus there is cheap enough gym membership out there, just gotta shop around. The central banks report was...

Motor Comprehensive Insurance & Temporary Car rental

The only reference to ownership /hire on my current cert is "you do not own the car or you have not hired the car under a hire-purchase agreement" I think the reference to hiring under a hire-purchase agreement is because that's not really "hiring" at all and is really ownership.

Motor Comprehensive Insurance & Temporary Car rental

Thank you, yes that looks clear cut that it does cover a rental car. I looked at my cert and the wording is slightly different but substantially the same. Thank you.

Motor Comprehensive Insurance & Temporary Car rental

The rental car would be "covered by an insurance policy" just not the 'super excess' upgraded cover that the rental car sells. Rental cars have insurance disks which I assume are valid.
