    Gone very quiet in here

Hi Wardy7. I hope you get a positive outcome on your rate. I think it's very positive that they are still investigating the matter. Regarding the following line though... "Every effort will be made to agree a fair and reasonable resolution with you. However, if you remain dissatisfied with the...

    Anyone get the refund yet?

We got our refund, it seems the way it works is as follows.... When you post back the letter, say it was sent on 10th aug and the bank receive it on the 11th. The first working day is the 12th and the 7th working day is the 20th. On the 20th you should receive your compensation payment and...

    Refund - case study

Sorry missed the last bit of your question. I independently complained to bank in 2012 about not being advised of consequences of breaking out etc and they rejected my complaint. I didn't take it to Ombudsman at the time. When I heard about central bank enforcement I wrote to them again and told...

    Got My PTSB Offer!

Possibly the interest they would have earned on this money had it been on deposit at highest rate possible for the period of overcharging by Ptsb?

The amount of compensation is a disgrace!

Does that sound fair to you? PTSB have been taking money from people incorrectly and without foundation for years and years. It's a paltry amount and very insulting. Do you think they go easy on interest and charges for people in arrears? People have lost their homes over this and Ptsb are...

The amount of compensation is a disgrace!

Thanks for the info Wardy7.The compo offer is ridiculously low! Hope you fight it. Best of luck if you do. I think we will all be fighting for proper recompense. At the end of the day if Ptsb were truly sorry - not only sorry because they were caught. The compo offer would be fair from the...

    Got My PTSB Offer!

Hi, sorry to hear you got such a low offer. It might be an idea to give a brief bit of background like when you broke out of fixed rate and what rate you are now on and size of mortgage may help. Hard to make any judgement call without these details but the compo offer is a joke. How did they...

    ptsb redress programme announced

I think this scenario above is incorrect and we will get a refund of over payments made. I've spoken to Ptsb this afternoon. They can't give figures as we all know but according to them they won't be using our over payments to bring the mortgage down to what it should have been had we been on a...

    ptsb redress programme announced

I've been trying to figure out what refund people might get and it looks like it will be minimal if you read the FAQ's on the Ptsb website. I will outline a scenario below, can someone please tell me if I'm correct in my refund assumption? - not the figures but the basis of refund. John doe...

PTSB ptsb will tell you over the phone if you are getting a refund

I just checked our mortgage online, the rate has went from 4.5% to 1.15%. Yesterday it was 4.5%, it looks like they are working through customers and reducing rates. Keep an eye on yours and see if it changes. It seems this process is moving forward (at long last).

PTSB ptsb will tell you over the phone if you are getting a refund

I just checked our mortgage online - next payment is due to come out 7th August (july payment) and it still shows the variable rate of 4.5%...I rang when this line was opened on Monday and was told that we were affected...not sure if this means that we are not affected now or just our details...
