Hi DonnaM, Can you please confirm? Was the 3.25% rate a fixed or a tracker rate? Is the 2.25% rate a fixed or a tracker rate? Thanks

    Savings query for moving house

Thanks Brendan. I’m hoping to buy a home up to €350k. I’m hoping equity, savings and shares bridge the gap. My current home will be sold.

Key Post Did you lose your tracker when fixing your mortgage or breaking out of a fixed rate?

Thanks Padraic. I assume applies to all lenders. Does it also mean that the current investigation wrt PTSB won't be closed until the end of 2016?

Tracker query - buying out a partner in a jointly bought house

I would second what Gerard123 says. My friend bought with another person and was hoping to exit her tracker mortgage with AIB, and leave the remaining person with the original tracker. They said no problem. However when she went to sign the papers there is was in black and white that the tracker...

Contract says 1.1%, but I have been offered 3.3% - suffered huge distress

We ll I would suggest the appeals first which is what I'm doing. The high court is expensive so you should try the appeals & fso first.

Is anyone still waiting for letter?

I see you said you got 3.25 as well in another thread??? This means you are part of the redress programme.

Contract says 1.1%, but I have been offered 3.3% - suffered huge distress

So you're saying it's not a quote but your contract you signed. If it states 1.1% after fixed I can't understand why you're not getting it? This seems clear & anyone in this situation has gotten it as it's in black & white. Are you sure you didn't have to get another contract reissued as there...

Contract says 1.1%, but I have been offered 3.3% - suffered huge distress

Can you please clarify what I think you are saying: You got a mortgage offer letter stating tracker of 1.1%. Can you please confirm that you signed this & returned to bank? Then I'm assuming because you went over 6 months before paying first repayment you had to get another contract issued? I'm...

PTSB If you have broken out of a fixed rate twice, make sure ptsb gives you the earlier tracker rate!

My only concern with my & other cases is that we broke out early 2009. You state that your new tracker is based on you breaking out in 2008 so the tracker offered then may have been that rate. I'm not so sure our battle to get the rate reduced when exiting in jan 2009 will be as easy. I wonder...

Were they in Court already? Or am I seeing things?

PTSB Overcharged couple reject PTSB’s ‘derisory’ compensation offer

Just saw this. I thought you could accept your compensation and refund before you appeal for more? This seems to contradict what I thought???

PTSB - why did you break your fixed rate?

I was told trackers were gone too when I asked, i.e. Not an option. Didn't even think to check my contract but it's obvious to the dogs on the street what they were up too.

PTSB - why did you break your fixed rate?

To follow up on above I have been told by my solicitor a few other shady incidents took place since 2009. People who went back into fixed contracts were allowed to break for again this time for a small fee. This was in recent years (after unknowingly loosing their trackers in 2009). Again this...

PTSB - why did you break your fixed rate?

I can't specifically remember but I know at the time I wasn't aware you could break for free. Think there was maybe an advertisement, definitely something to prompt me. What was unusual at the time a friend had a fixed mortgage at ptsb. I told him that I could break out for free & advised he do...

Apologies and a few thousand euro are not enough

If "accountability and responsibility" are their core values, why did he allow the bank under his charge pursue these tracker cases to the Supreme Court until this year? He should be fired. Shame on the Central Bank too. They are all a disgrace.

PTSB ptsb will tell you over the phone if you are getting a refund

Hi JCB1, Just to let you know you and I are 2 people of a pool of approx. 300/400 people who have contracts where the margin is not clearly stated. PTSB have just come up with a margin of ECB +3.25% for us which is the 3.3% you are seeing on your account. This is unacceptable. You should be...

    ptsb redress programme announced

Just saw this on the PTSB website re redress: "In other cases, the customer’s conditions provided that they are entitled to the appropriate margin over the ECB rate which was applicable on the maturity of the fixed rate (or discounted tracker) period. For these customers, the key factor is the...
