    Pet Insurance

I've got my two cats insured with Allianz. It costs €18.99 a month for both of them. One of the cats needed dentistry (don't laugh) recently, and it cost me €245.00 for the removal of three teeth, an anaesthetic and an overnight stay in the vets. The vet processed the claim for me and I...

    Capetown with the Travel Department?

Hi Box the Fox, I did go to Capetown in the end, with the Travel Department and had a ball. Despite it being early May when we went, it rained for the first two days (light drizzle) but it cleared up and we had 30 degree heat for the rest of the holiday. We got to do Robben Island and Table...

Claiming back tax from goods bought in Canada ?

Havealaugh is correct. You cannot claim back your tax anymore. This has been in effect since approx April 2007. I was in Toronto in June 2007 and phoned the Canadian Refund Office (not correct title) and was told this scheme had been abolished.

Bidding lower than was orginally agreed!

With your mentality and attitude regarding your prospective buyer, if I were them, I would happily tell you where to stick your house. I don't mean to contravene current posting guidelines, but your attitude is appalling. I wouldn't buy from you. But good luck with your sale and your new car.

BIG 4 firm trying to get out of payrises

As a former employee of a Big 4 firm, I heard through the grapevine that bonuses have been slashed this year and accordingly all payrises. Chances are your pay rise will be minimal. Good luck with the new job.

Working for a not for profit organisation

    Debenhams 'in store card'

I was offered one of these the other day. I took it that the card would be like a Dunnes value card / club card kind of thing. Until she asked for ID, which I didn't have with me. I quickly copped it was for another type of credit card. The hard sell was that if I got a CC card, I would get...

Helsinki / St Petersburg / Moscow

I was in St Petersburg in October 2007. Its a beautiful city. The Hermitage museum will take you a day to walk around. And even then you won't see everything. Try and get tickets for the Kirov ballet (Marinsky theatre) worth every penny - they are not cheap - but it is a fabulous thing to...

Woodbury Common Train from NYC or Bus?

Don't know anything about the train Sorry! I was there last week and got the bus from the Port Authority at 9.15am and it took an hour to get to Woodbury. The cost was $40.00 return. I went on a Sunday so the traffic was pretty quiet. I also left it late in the evening to get the bus back...

    Capetown with the Travel Department?

Thank you for your reply BoxtheFox. Perhaps I didn't make myself clear enough. I am not hesitating to use them as I have travelled with them before and did not have any problems. I was specifically asking if anyone had gone to Capetown with them. I am going to be travelling on my own as my...
