Avant Mortgage - new mortgage time line experience?

Absolutely. I applied early January, received AIP 4th April, received loan offer 20th June. It took until late July for Avant to ask for folios to be put in both our names which we did 2-3 weeks later. I can honestly say that there was no delays on side.

Avant Mortgage - new mortgage time line experience?

There was a query over a right of way but that was rectified/explained quite fast. I thought insurance would be a nightmare but it was quite easy. The title was a different story - had to change folios from my sole name to both names to include wife. But still, that only came up in July. It was...

Avant Mortgage - new mortgage time line experience?

I applied first week of January. I've been fast enough with any paperwork that's been requested and still no drawdown.

    Break fee

I fixed in May 2018 for 5 years at 3.00%. After that interbank lending rates fell but recently, probably due to the pandemic, they rose above what they were when I fixed. My EBS online account is still showing a break fee of well over €2k though?

Bridging the gap between 60 and oap

As a matter of pure coincidence I received correspondence from DPER today which states the following - Supplementary pension cannot be paid where an individual, whether resident or non-resident, fails to claim any of the Social Welfare benefits to which they may be entitled. Where the failure...

Bridging the gap between 60 and oap

This is the problem. We all should know. It's far too ambiguous. I know that currently the DSP will give people over 62 years of age jobseekers even if they aren't seeking a job. However, the age of 62 will almost certainly rise. Surely all public servants are entitled to know what sort of...

Bridging the gap between 60 and oap

A Garda/Firefighter/Prison Officer must retire at 60. Post 2004 can retire at 55, pre 2004 can retire at 50. This leaves a considerable period of time before state benefits kick in should they not be entitled to a supplementary pension. Most public servants will rely on the supplementary pension...

Bridging the gap between 60 and oap

I'm a serving Garda and this is a question I posed and a response I received on the matter. It doesn't make for good reading... QUESTION As I'm sure you are aware, members of the Gardaí who joined post 1995 will have their pensions calculated differently than how pensions are calculated for...

High Court tells Ombudsman to look at Danske Bank's rate increase

Would you advise me to do the same Brendan, given the different terminology?

Is there any campaign for Eddie Stowe's cause? I've been looking on social media but there does't seem to be any.

AIB, EBS cut variable interest rates

So, for EBS customers, should we fix now? And, if so, for how long? I'd be interested in hearing views here, especially Brendan's!!

High Court tells Ombudsman to look at Danske Bank's rate increase

EBS Variable My 2008 mortgage from EBS states that the variable rate will be set at "prevailing market rates" as opposed to "in line with market conditions".

Extra payments to an Ebs variable mortgage.

So does this mean that if you credited the account with funds on one day and didn't instruct them on how to handle the overpayment for two weeks let's say, then you would be renumerated the interest that you paid over those two weeks?

    EBS Pre-Arrears Case

Thanks so crates for the advice above. I've read online that EBS have increased reasonable living expenses to 20-25% over and above that of ISI's. If this is true I'm certainly living a few hundred euro below their guidelines. Also when my daughter turns four in a few months ill be even more...

    EBS Pre-Arrears Case

I've just seen the ISI's living expenses guide online and it looks as if I'm doing okay!! I better shut up complaining!!! My reasonable living expenses are E1407.50 + E242.26 + E66.27 = E1716.03 Adding this to my mortgage gives E1716.03 + E1163 = E2879.03 Looks like I'm on the borderline...

    EBS Pre-Arrears Case

I get to take home E677 as E23 is taken from salary to pay union, life insurance, illness insurance and such. Of the E677, E290 covers the mortgage which leaves E387, Food is E100 like I said which leaves E287. I spend about E80 on diesel for the car which leaves E207. Electric and heating come...
