BOI not moving with their rates for me

If the mortgage protection cover issue is not a problem, for Ulster bank. Switch to them, you'll get 1500 towards switching, the cost of my current switch is 900. I'm getting 2.1% for 2 years from Ulster bank

PTSB PTSB 1 year discounted tracker - Central Bank has deemed them not impacted.

This is disappointing, the effected folks need to join together and take this to the courts.

When will the FSO determine that the Tracker examination is complete?

This has been a key point for me also, how can a contract be fair when one side has complete control of the rate charged. I can't understand how they've been ignored.....

Are you awaiting final decision from your bank?

The banks are doing there usual trick here (least cost to them), they have only deemed impacted the cohorts that the CBI have told them that they have to deem impacted. They have no intention of finding any other cohorts, there are clear outlier cases that the banks themselves won't find...

Ulster Former First Active now Ulster Bank Customer

That's not the information I've gotten from the ombudsman, there may be a slight chance that they'll look at it again if some new evidence comes to light, but they won't adjudicate on the same grounds as the previous complaint. The poster should send their complaint to the ombudsman anyway, and...

Ulster Former First Active now Ulster Bank Customer

You can't go to the ombudsman for a second time, with the same complaint. Its very easy for the banks to give customers who have already failed with the ombudsman, a not impacted status in central bank tracker review, as those customers have no way of appealing that decision.

    BOI, incorrect rate

From the parts of the MFA you have posted I can't see that it states what rate you return to after the fixed rate period ends. Therefore the original term of the loan should come into effect. Since your original terms contained "the interest rate shall be no more than 1.25 above (repo rate) FOR...

    BOI, incorrect rate

I can't see that the MFA states what the interest rate will be after the fixed period expires. It does state the following at point 5. "5. Save as set out in this Form of Authorisation, all the terms and conditions applicable to the Loan remain unchanged" In my view the condition "FOR THE TERM...

    BOI, incorrect rate

From a legal point of view it depends on the contents of the Mortgage form of Authorisation in Oct 2007. But for sure there is ambiguity, the original contract states what the rate will be for the term of the loan. If they didn't make it clear when you signed the Mortgage form of Authorisation...

    BOI, incorrect rate

I thought there may have been some ambiguity in the wording, but it appears that you knew what you were doing. I don't see any case here.

    BOI, incorrect rate

Would it be possible to see the Oct 2007 Mortgage form of Authorisation, you should cover any identifying information. It seems bazaar that you would choose the higher rate.

Deemed not impacted by KBC not getting answers

How are you appealing it? FSO won't look at it again if you are complaining about the same issues.

Bank of ireland Tracker mover product - 5 year limit scrapped!

Make sure you get that in writing. It sounds like sometime they've promised in the past but not lived up to, thats why we are here.

Central Bank Governor at the Finance Committee next week

Derville Rowland, would not speculate on specific lenders, so little point in asking direct questions. They took a 30 minute break at 1pm. John McGuinness, was probably the best, he really pointed out to the central bank, that the consumer protection code is not being enforced (basically being...

Ulster giving me back my tracker, but changing the contract wording.

Sorry Brendan, I don't trust any of the lenders, if they can pull a fast one to make more profit they will regardless of the past. No one will be held accountable for this, the bonus culture is coming back, they'll do whatever it takes. So yes they are likely to mess with trackers in the future...

Ulster giving me back my tracker, but changing the contract wording.

I tend to agree with notabene here. Hold out to get the original terms of the mortgage. Its not unheard of for banks to set a lower fixed rate to try and get people to move off there tracker margin. If the original contract stated that you should be on a tracker for the life of the loan, then...

ptsb customers should raise the issues at the AGM

BTW Im not a ptsb customer, But I think even if you are not a shareholder it would be good to turn up and have a show of force outside where ever the meeting is being held, the more media attention the better.

AIB Anyone going to the AIB AGM next week to raise tracker issues?

Well done Brendan and neverever, I'm not an AIB customer. However I think its down to the outliers now, the main cohorts seems to be sorted. I think we all need to get ourselves organised better, this looked like a big missed opportunity for the AIB folks to apply much needed public pressure on...
