    Amazon Prime

I got automated calls (American accent) from 'Amazon' today and yesterday from different numbers starting 021 and 089, telling me my Amazon account will be auto renewed (I don't have an account). Got similar calls a couple of times in the past few weeks. No bank details requested but I ended...

Scam Phonecalls from Morocco : +212

The number has thrown me lately as the first 3 digits are 021 but I'll be more vigilant in future. I then discover it's the 'Microsoft' scammers, don't think I can block them myself. I thought these calls were easing off but they seem to be on the increase again.

Wondering if the departure schedules include all cargo flights?

Daylight Running Lights only half way there.

I imagine it's to make a vehicle coming towards you more visible (that being the priority).

    windows 10 ?

I did this and got the connection working but it didn't last long. I'm back to getting a connection manually using various settings, but I don't seem to be spending as much time getting connected recently; it's not ideal or permanent - maybe I'm closer to a solution(?), though it's proving to...

    windows 10 ?

Yes Leo I'm using the laptop's built-in wifi. I'd need to explore the disable/USB option as I'm not too techie but I'll keep it in mind. It's not an old PC and it seems a shame to have to go to all this trouble for an update. I wouldn't rule out returning to Win 8.1, though naturally I'd like to...

    windows 10 ?

My WIFI has gone on the blink since moving to Win10 recently, it takes ages to get it to connect (if at all) and I'm tired of fiddling with the settings trying to get a connection each time I log back in. The modem is working okay and the signal is fine when I use ethernet cable. I suppose I can...

    Fixed charge offense -advice needed

Must say I was under the impression that an NCT letter indicating a test date would have been (reasonably) adequate if the test wasn't too long overdue - especially given the difficulty at times in securing an appointment for the nct. Pity the guard couldn't be contacted, maybe it's possible he...

Asian Guy Claiming he is from Eircom/Microsoft/Windows

These calls are on the increase again, I got two today and have received others recently. As above post states, they must be still conning people.

If both L & N are displayed, how are other road users to know which one is applicable?

    Condensation in headlight, NCT due

Is it the weather? I got condensation on inside of tail light a week ago after heavy rain, still hasn't cleared up, it's slow and tedious to remove the unit, I'm kinda hoping it might clear up itself. Heard it can be seals but it hasn't happened before. I heard about the tips mentioned above...

Great footage from Luas of cars breaking lights

Some of those drivers seemed almost unaware that they were so close to a serious collision with a tram. They missed serious injury and possible death by a whisker.

    New petrol car, realistic?

It seems VAG petrol engines are all turbo now, I'm been thinking about the Golf TSI 1.2, I'm a low mileage driver. Any thoughts on turbo as opposed to naturally aspirated engines? Would the turbo involve more maintenance/repairs/expense over time? Honda have good reliability reputation but I...

    VW repairs

In modern cars a light can come on to indicate a fault in different areas not just the alternator. Did the light give any indication at all of the problem using your car manual? You need to get roadside assistance or a mechanic or someone with some knowledge of cars to have a look at it and find...

Buying shares - where do I start?

How would a newcomer learn about buying shares, how to go about it, which shares to buy, advice available, etc, if one was to consider trying them on a small scale.

    Open complaint letter to Eircom

Eircom's 1901 service has become a joke, seems impossible to get speak to an agent these days, it's so frustrating and a waste of time, what's happening there?
