Cheapest Way to Invest in Index Funds

Hi all, what is the cheapest way to invest in index funds in Ireland. I've used DeGiro and they seem to have a good service. However, I'm looking for alternatives as don't feel comfortable putting all my savings on one site. I spoke to a handful of FAs, 2 of whom recommended Dimensional Fund...

Tax on income of trading binary options

Why on Earth would you trade binary options in the first place? They are a known scam with some platforms completely rigged and the rest with a 30% or so house edge. That's about 6 times worse odds than what you get at the bookies. Mugs game.

    Best Alternatives to DeGiro

I'm a non-resident investor. Have been looking at DeGiro, but have some reservations on using them. What are the alternative options out there for non-residents to invest in funds and ETFs with minimal fees/commissions. I'm a long term holder and don't make many trades. Also prefer for...

    Bitcoin (wallets and exchanges)

I believe Cubits are cheaper than that, but please double check as I normally trade USD-BTC. I use a Nano-S ledger for cold storage. Never tried the BTC linked Visas but can't imagine they are cheap if the BTC ATMs are anything to go buy.

I'm resident there 8-9 months of the year and spend the rest of the time in Ireland or overseas. I am currently considering purchasing property in Ireland and wondering if...

Best way to buy Vanguard/iShares funds in Ireland

I've read that by investing using say Davy's, that with this you pay regular income tax %s as opposed to CGT. The major appeal of these funds is in their low fees - as low as 0.06 for Vanguard. However, Davy's is charging close to 1% which when compounded over the term of your investment will...

Best way to buy Vanguard/iShares funds in Ireland

I noticed Davy offer access to some Vanguard funds, however the fees go up to 0.90% which is obviously a massive increase on Vanguard's base rate. Does anybody know the best/cheapest way to buy Vanguard or iShares index funds in Ireland? Particularly interested in S&P500 and FTSE100 funds. TY

    Query on reclaiming VAT.

I had a question about VAT and specifically reclaiming VAT. I'm Irish and not registered for VAT. Last year I purchased a website. The company selling it (UK based) then paid me back the VAT at the end of the year. Is this normal? If I pay for other services and am not VAT registered am I...

    SC Evergreen Growth Fund

I recently started banking with standard chartered and part of the sales pitch I received after signing up was to invest in a scheme run with one of their partners - Prudential Insurance. This seems to have some layer of life insurance built into it. One needs to invest X amount per month...
