Person using an elderly person's ATM account to withdraw €20,000

Gardaí have informed us that dossier will be sent to DPP. Does this take a long time to move through the system? Care company are looking into all the people this person looked after to determine if there any other instance of abuse. Do you think that this is any liability on the care...

Person using an elderly person's ATM account to withdraw €20,000

Unbelievably, the bank CCTV shows my mother's carer taking €400 out from ATM on Thursday. Texted carer "did you take Mum to bank on Thurs as she can't remember" Response was "She'll take a taxi to bank or I'll take her". So avoided the question. Gardaí on the case and carer is now under...

Person using an elderly person's ATM account to withdraw €20,000

If it's the person I think it is, he is a relative of the home care person who has been doing odd jobs. The home care folks have a responsibility here I guess .... Will be getting Gardai involved.

Person using an elderly person's ATM account to withdraw €20,000

Just waiting for the bank to come back to us with the results of CCTV. Is the upper limit for ATM's €600 ? Have been in contact with Age Action & they recommended contacting the Gardai if we can identify the person.

Person using an elderly person's ATM account to withdraw €20,000

My mother is unaware of this as of yet as this would be too upsetting. I am assuming that she gave this person her pin. Have been to the bank today and have cancelled the card.

    Buy property but stay renting

Well - I'm glad that I've generated such interest! A few points to add. 1. I almost bought a property at the height of the boom (2007 I think it was) but got sense at the last minute. I'd even made a down payment before I got cold feet. Needless to say, I am glad I took this path. I have...

    Buy property but stay renting

Thanks Brendan, I would not get a mortgage big enough (or affordable enough) to live where I'm living now and the rent is very low for where I live so I'm getting a good deal. Given my age (46), I will never be able to afford to buy in my area - unless I come in to some money of course!! So...

Pension Death Benefit & Pension Transfer

Hi, A couple of questions I hoping to get input on: 1. Is it correct that there is a limit to the lump sum you can obtain on death of 4 times salary? I have a pension with my present employer that will pay out 3 times salary on death. I also hold a life assurance policy privately that...

UPC Wireless Modem - Parental/ User Control Setup

I've been attempting to put in place the Parental and User control functions on the UPC wireless router (Cisco epc 2425). The user guide is pretty useless at explaining how it work - it just tells you how to input the required field information. I've got to a point where a user needs to...

UPC - broadband down when TV turned on!

Just an update on this. The problem seems to have sorted itself out since I last posted...so I'm guessing it was not a modem but rather a UPC service issue. I'm looking now to access my modem to make changes and cannot remember what my user name & p/w was when I set it up! Any ideas as to how...

UPC - broadband down when TV turned on!

I'm having a problem with my UPC service and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. My internet connection is lost when I turn on my TV and despite rebooting the wireless router I don't get much joy. I have broadband TV & Phone with UPC and obviously these all connect via the same...
