    Things to do in Istanbul

Always flag down a passing taxi, never take one of the guys who is hanging around the tourist areas. Also insist on being driven to the door of the hotel. That way you can call on the doorman to assist if you wind up having fare issues (driver claiming no change, no English etc etc).

Half a day in Boston! What to do?

dub nerd has a few good suggestions there. You could also consider the 'Duck Tours' as a way to see a bit of Boston. You have about 4 hours to play with. If you land at 10:30 you should easily be able to be in the city centre by 11:30. You would want to be leaving the city again about 3:30pm for...

Skyscanner: an airline has availability but is no longer displayed

Some airlines (notably Ryanair) do not like sites sites like skyscanner and as a result may be hiding info from skyscanner. Ryanairs opinion is that the customer should always go direct to their own website rather than any third party operation.

    Vodafone / Verizon Sale

Seems like the best thing to do is cash out completely at this stage. For most small Irish shareholders there seems little point holding onto the verizon shares, and I would apply the same logic to the consolidated vodafone shares. Too much hassle to hold such a small amount of shares.

Key Post Methods to avoid/minimise Credit Card charges with Ryanair and Aer Lingus

I do not think this ever worked for Aer Lingus. They have a flat charge irrespective of which card you use.

    Hueston to airport

Best Airline to Fly Business With - Virgin / BA / Air France / KLM

I am surprised that you get a better price by having seperate tix for DUB-LHR and the Virgin flight. Flights originating in UK have a £170 APD tax which would not apply to a itinerary starting in Ireland. Normally it is a good bit cheaper to start in DUB and connect to Virgin on a single ticket...

Best Airline to Fly Business With - Virgin / BA / Air France / KLM

Did you try Swiss through Zurich, they are probably the best Biz class in Europe. Actually most of these airlines have lots of info on their biz class on their websites

Best Airline to Fly Business With - Virgin / BA / Air France / KLM

There is not a lot between them, Virgin and BA have a fully flat bed, whereas KLM and AF have an angled flat bed. All are fine mid range buisness class products. If it was my money I would not pay €1000 extra for Virgin, BA unless there was drastic differences in timings. AMS is a easier...

Did anyone of you open an account with one the biggest german banks?

I posted earlier in this thread about my problem with opening a DKB account. So instead I decided to try my luck with Dutch banks during a recent trip to The Netherlands. First branch of ABN-AMRO I visited said no after much discussion among themselves (I just think they could not get their...

Connecting at O'Hare, Chicago with Aer Lingus and United Airlines.

Hi Sue Ellen, You clear customs in Dublin, all advice otherwise is out of date. Aer Lingus interline bags with United. They will check your bags through if you have a through ticket. EvilDocter is correct, you do have to clear security as the transit system is landside.

Connecting at O'Hare, Chicago with Aer Lingus and United Airlines.

Hi Sue Ellen, I think that the website is out of date and this refers to the practice before new new US facility in T2 opened. The ORD flight from Dublin clears CBP (US Customs) in DUB so there is no reason why they cannot check your bags through to your final destination. The only possible...

    Buying New phone in NY
