Married tax credit - still valid when living abroad

We have moved to France in 2015 but we are still getting a rental income in Ireland. When doing my form 11 this year I was surprised to see that even though I tick the box for "non resident", they are still giving me the €3300 married tax credit. I didn't expect that as I thought I would lose...

Form 11 Section O - Self Assessment under Chapter 4

I'm using ROS online and values are pre-populated on this new section from 2013. I do have one discrepancy on "Amount of PRSI chargeable for this period - self". Their automated PRSI calculation only includes the PRSI paid through RTS01 (Share Options exercised, released or assigned in 2013)...

rent income tax between two individuals

We were single for tax purpose in 2013. She would have had her €3000 tax credit (PAYE and single), she finished work in March 2013 (so she did work for a short period that year) and then was on maternity leave for 6 months.

Help in taxation for rental income

I really created a big thread here! Anyway, I do have a follow up question about your example, or more a clarification. In your example, you say "Amount due for income tax b - a = 3300". Does that mean that this is the amount taxable, i.e. if we use 52% (41% income tax, 7% PRSI and 4% USC) then...

Twins on the way, moving to a bigger place, Budget '13, tax advice?

:D Joe, thanks for your reply. So what you are suggesting is keep two separate tax returns so we can split the rent income, I'll pay marginal tax + PRSI + USC and she will very likely pay no income tax, although I'm guessing she still has to pay the PRSI and USC too? Is it legal for her to...

Twins on the way, moving to a bigger place, Budget '13, tax advice?

We are on two incomes at the moment, both on the marginal tax rate, currently doing 2 separate tax returns. We have a decision to make for next year as my partner is expecting twins. She is a contractor and will not get anything from her company when she stops working to go on the maternity...

Help in taxation for rental income

I'm not sure if I understand. For me, the Mortgage protection is there to help pay it off in case I or my partner dies. Why would this be different if you are renting the place? Also, when we bought our apartment, it was mandatory to take a Mortgage protection. Has this changed now?

Help in taxation for rental income

Hi, Like many people, we have bought at the wrong time (2007) and we cannot sell our apartment. The only option we have is to rent it and then go rent the three bedroom house we are looking for. I realise now that there are tax implications in doing this (even though the rent won't cover fully...
