What is the definition of a non-performing loan?

So what is the difference between an extension and a restructure?

What is the definition of a non-performing loan?

It was in negative equity - probably about 120% LTV - About €77K paid off the capital in the last 7 years and it has gone up in value - hence the current LTV of about 65%

What is the definition of a non-performing loan?

I would have thought it was restructuring because by extending the term you are restructuring your original contract, no? She specifically said to me on the phone we had restructured

What is the definition of a non-performing loan?

Yes we did get a good deal when they agreed to extend the loan, and to be honest would not have extended in if it meant loosing the tracker. Moving to Goldman Sachs (through Pepper) is done and I have accepted that. I will continue paying the mortgage and hopefully all will be ok. However, it...

What is the definition of a non-performing loan?

To add some additional details to clarify things: Loan was taken out in 2006 at ECB + 1.1% with first 5 years interest only In summer of 2011, capital & Interest payments were due, with the remaining term was 20 years Rent was low and payment was high, so we asked KBC could we extend the loan...

help needed to work out how much mortgage interest can be offset in a buy to let situation.

Really? I was not aware of this. I have always rented to someone receiving rent allowance. Does this then mean I should be claiming 100% tax relief on my interest, rather than 75%? Or is it only for people renting to RAS schemes etc..

    PTSB tracker issue .....again

My loan with them was a home loan and taken out before trackers were offered. When trackers became available I contacted them and asked if trackers were an option for me (as was on SVR), they said yes and send me the paper work to move - but they did not contact me, I contacted them. But I...

    KBC rental, advice before meeting

I have a rental property with KBC and found them very helpful when I wanted to extend the term to reduce the monthly payments. However, I had 20 years remaining on the mortgage and increased it to 25 years. I was told that they only give max 25 year terms for buy to let mortgages. So I am unsure...

TRS and CGT on the refund?

I made a call yesterday to PTSB to try and clarify the "prior years" term. He told me that PTSB are settling any over payments of TRS for the whole period of time we were on the wrong rate. So basically I changed onto new rate in July - so I have been told that TRS prior to July will not be...

TRS and CGT on the refund?

Just with regards the TRS. I am wondering about the wording in their statement "customers will not be deemed to be in an over claimed tax position for prior years as a result of the redress payment".... So can we take that to mean then are we for this year? The max TRS we are entitled to as a...

TRS and CGT on the refund?

I received my letter today. Like you I fully expected PTSB to deduct the TRS over-payment from my reimbursement amount. However, based on my calculations, they seem to be reimbursing me the TRS over payment also, which I was really surprised by. Obviously, my calculations might be wrong - and I...

Evidence that there was a systematic campaign to get people off their trackers

I went in store of my own accord in Jan 2009 to inquire about whether I would get my tracker back at the end of my fixed rate. I had been hearing that they had removed them and was worried I would no longer be entitled to it on completion of my fixed rate in Aug 09. When originally moving to...

Evidence that there was a systematic campaign to get people off their trackers

I was told I would not be entitled to tracker on completion of my fixed rate, in store and on the phone. Hence, I thought the SVR move was a second best option as such. When I brought my complaint forward in 2010 ( when I realised the terms in my mortgage contradicted this), I was informed the...

Evidence that there was a systematic campaign to get people off their trackers

    Sorry in that previous post I must have missed some of the SVR rate changes from Jan 09 to July 09. I was on: Jan 09 - 4.65% 13 Feb 09 - 4.15% 03 Apr 09 - 3.65% 30 Apr 09 - 3.4% 05 Jun 09 - 3.15% 27 Jul 09 - 3.65%

PTSB - why did you break your fixed rate?

I went into a branch to talk with mortgage adviser in Jan 2009 because I was afraid I would not get my tracker back at the end of our fixed rate - as they seemed to be removing tracker mortgages from the market. When fixing I had got verbal agreement that I could go back onto tracker but had not...

Evidence that there was a systematic campaign to get people off their trackers

I was also told in Jan 09 that there was an ECB rate reduction to be passed onto existing SVR customers only, bringing the SVR from 4.65% to 4.15% on Feb 13th. This ECB rate reduction would only be passed to existing SVR customers, and any new SVR customers after this date would get a rate of...

Update on ptsb tracker refund programme

I just rang for an update and was told they are hoping for the letters to go out next week or the week afterwards. He said if I rang back mid next week he might have a better idea of the date they will go out.

PTSB ptsb withdraws appeal to Supreme Court on trackers; CBI taking enforcement action

I would say that date range is to check each persons original loan contract or terms. They probably know it was during that period roughly the terms and conditions were worded that way. So they might check to see what customers during that time had those terms, and from there then work out which...

FAQ Calculating the refund when a tracker is restored

Another point that is probably applicable to many is that the TRS you would have received during this time would need to be recalculated and taken into account in the calculations? So for example if I say that for one month on SVR, the total interest due might have been €1000 - I would been...
