Why Do I have Two Merchant ID's?

Check for the PCI administration on your statement - they moved at some point in the last 12 months to a new PCI adminstration company and if they haven't already been on to you looking for you to complete your compliance (short form or no!) they will be. Good luck! We were with them long before...

Why Do I have Two Merchant ID's?

Very best of luck to you with them. We had two merchant Id's - one for Euro and one for Sterling. Can you check back with your contracts and see if you asked to trade in both Euro and Sterling? or Euro & USD? If you had, they would have given you two merchant ID's and applied the minimum charges...

    Working Abroad

Highly unlikely, as in France the only tax that is deducted at source is the French equivalent of PRSI - her cotisations. Income tax is calculated and paid by the individual after the end of the tax year.

Merchant Credit Card Charges & supplementary fees

We have exactly the same issue and aib told us there is no way to differentiate between business and consumer cards. I don't believe them as they must have a way of differentiating to be able to apply the higher charge to the business cards. We have had to increase rates across the board for...

Any bank will accept any cheque, more or less, so long as it is made out to the right person and being lodged to the right account. However, clearing a cheque from a non-national bank can take weeks - even Euro area.

Do smokers cost the taxpayer money?

It's a really interesting - and absolutely tragic, IMO - issue. The primary problem is that it is not recognised that sugar, in all its forms, including fructose (fruit sugars) is as lethal a poison to the human body as tobacco or nicotine when taken to excess. Excess can be as little as a...

Breathalyser in France - new law

eh - no, it's not actually the police saving money, there's a huge scandal here about it. The law decreeing that a breathalyser kit has to be carried in the car was brought in during the Sarcozy government, apparently on the basis of advise from a road safety group called i-test. The president...

Breathalyser in France - new law

Yes, you will be fined. The fine is 11 Euro at the moment. People are advised to carry 2 breathalysers with them, as if you are stopped and breathalised and then continue to drive, you will have used up the only one... They are for sale in garages, supermarkets, everywhere.

    "Restricted Card" (Laser)

Feeling aggrieved about a bank process is a bummer, eh? Particularly when YOU have done everything right and according to the rules. The way that these things work, Padraigb, are: a) The purchaser enters their card details onto the system b) The system sends the transaction request to the...

Can anyone recommend a nice/helpful staff member in Meteor Credit Control Dept.?

Yup, Meteor customer service sucks - WITH THE EXCEPTION OF the staff on the forum. I spent 3 months emailing and phoning and only finally got my issues resolved by the customer service on the forum and other people say the same thing. Good luck!
