    Dublin 8, Lower Clanbrassil St

I lived on Clanbrassil Terrace for a year about 3 years ago. I thought it was a great location, it so convenient for town and as we weren't right on Clanbrassil st so it was quite enough. A few new shops have opened up in the area too since I was there. We drove to superquinn on Sundrive road...

    Engagement gift?

I got engaged recently and we got plenty of cards and a few small presents and a couple of bottles of bubbly. We didn't expect anything at all and I don't think most couples would expect anything. It is very nice to get all the cards though.

tax + duty implications of importing goods from UK + US ?

the EU has a common trade area so you won't pay customs on any goods that you bring into Ireland from anywhere in the EU, whereas customs may have to be paid on goods imported from outside the EU (eg the US) As far as I remember (but I'm open to correction), if you are buying goods from another...

    Alternatives to a "traditional" wedding

My Cousin had a similar wedding a couple of weeks ago. They had a small service at about 4.00 with just immediate family (about 12 in all) and then they went to the Merrion for dinner. They had a small gathering later on, at 9.00 the rest of us (about 30) joined them in the Cellar bar for drinks...

If you go to Chamonix you could bring the kids to the 'Luge D'ete' - it's a dry toboggan run. Although I've just realised that it's almost 20 years since I was there so it might not be around anymore!

    Red Cow Roundabout

I went around the red cow recently from a different approach (coming off the M50 north bound to head into town). It all looks a bit of a mess but it was all well signposted so if you're nervous just take your time and stick with the sign posts. alternatively you could take the outer orbital...

Foreign tenant requires proof of address

I wouldn't see not having a PPS number yet as grounds for suspicion. As far as I know you need some proof of address to be able to get a PPS number, this may be why they are looking for it.

    Hugo Boss Dundrum

You should also check out an earlier thread about Dundrum voucher cards, These cards had monthly/ quarterly charges on them which reduced the value of the card over time. They might have changed that since then, or the shop might do their own vouchers.
