Mature couple break up, selling house issue

If the party is walking into the bank clearing a mortgage, I am sure it will be evident to this bank who are owed money independent of this mortgage. This is a side point to my main question though

Mature couple break up, selling house issue

BTW The proceeds of any sale to the party who wont sell is probably worthless, as the 'strong likelihood' (Cant say as fact) is there are a banks or queue of people who may have a right to this money over them. So they probably wont profit from any sale. I am sure they are aware of this also.

Mature couple break up, selling house issue

They are married but one has filed for divorce. Other party would prefer to be still married and is 'holding on' as they say. Break up was amiable but one did leave the other. No big story just drifted apart. The person who does'nt want to sell is in the property alone. It was the other way...

Mature couple break up, selling house issue

I have someone close to me in a corner. A couple separated with kids grown up and in college etc. One has a decent job the other owes the banks money and ran a business into the ground. Also is not up front with anyone involved. Family home has been on the market for nearly 2 years. They both...

Want to self build but husband has a mortgage

We were similiar to this. I had a site and a mortgage from before I met my wife. We applied for a joint mortgage. We were married and undertook that we would put it into both names before completion. However, It was not something we were hard pressed on initially by the bank. This was in 2011...

Problem with tenant in shared house

Great reply.. Can you explain the first para above as I cant grasp it. Is this second part true? Do you not need to register for the PRTB in such an instance? or only if there is an agreement? Where could one find a copy of such an agreement?

Problem with tenant in shared house

What if the landlord keeps a room in the house for occasion use for themselves and rents out other rooms on a share basis with bills in landlords name? If for example they live in another part of the country? Whose names are the bills in at the rental poster?

Do we need Credit Card now Visa debit is here

Had the laser card replaced by the Visa debit with BOI a while back. My question is, now that's in place, is there any need to keep the old credit card. From what I can see the only reason is car rental who cant get pre authorisation from debit cards should they need to take funds from you later...

End of Interest Relief, How long to draw down?

To pick on two points. First I believe all TRS ends in 2017 not 2019. Secondly, and there is some debate around this, you qualify for TRS from your first repayment date and not drawdown date. There are lots of threads here on this debate. I called the TRS helpline myself and was told two...

'Livingsocial' online discount site: refund - what chance?

In our experience Groupon are alot more customer friendly than Livingsocial. We also had a poor experience with them. They fed us a load of bull but no refund. We, and those close to us, stopped using them. We have had only good expereince's with the other discount websites when we ran into a...

Car wash refused to give us change back!

That was pretty much the view we took. I was with my wife and young son. I was just wondering what action, if any, I should take. Was just shocked by how blatant this scumbag was. I have absolutely no doubt that this guy is drawing the dole and whatever else.

Car wash refused to give us change back!

We got our car washed today while passing the Fonthill Rd in Clondalkin at a guy who had an operation to the side of a used car place. The price on the wall said 8€. We sat in the car and 2 guys washed the car. The main guy was more interested in chatting with people nearby he knew. I let down...

Refusal to send out refusal letters... ??

I dont buy this line that it's more effiecient for them. Thats not the reason they wont take your application. They dont want to creat a statistic that says they are approving 2% of mortgage applications, so they vet the applications. BOI had a line last year where they said they were approving...

    FTB mortgage approval

Just to echo what Bugler said. You need an minimum 8% deposit, probably more. The banks put everyone through the ringer now. You may consider bringing down your budget or saving more and waiting longer before buying. As FTB you will lose TRS if you wait beyonf 2012, so maybe see whats affordable...

ESRI are proposing a property charge of €2.50 per €1,000 valuation?

Errr Croke Park is a huge part of keeping this deficit. A herd of elephants in the room. Like other have said if there were services inplace then no problem. Especially in some rural areas when the council barely maintain roads if at all.

Vodafone charged for a month after switch

I switched 2 business accounts from Vodafone to O2. I had call them at the end of Febraury to inform them and ask them what I needed to do. The girl said the new company would take care of it for me and that I should do it near the end of the month to use up minutes. At the end of March O2...

Key Post Has anyone lost their tracker through renting out their home?

Just out of curiosity - Is no one afraid that by asking their bank they are giving them rope to hang you with, and alerting them to your intention to rent.

    Household charge and moving house

Thanks Sahd So just to get it straight. We are moving in July coming. So we are liable for the HC on our current home in 2012 and not at all for our new home in 2012 as we wont be able to move in until the summer. We then pay it on new home in 2013. As for the NPPR, although we hope to rent...

    Household charge and moving house

We will be mving into a new house we are building in the summer and renting out our current home. If we pay the household charge can we take it with us to the new home? We will have to pay the investment home charge when it becomes applicable at the same time.

Advise on mobile and fixed line operators

We are building a new house and will be in during the summer. The signal there is very poor. I work from at home and am looking at mobile, landline and broadband requirements. The only broadband in the area seems to be a rural broadband. There is no 3G in the area. So that limits that. My main...
