Citizens Assembly - Drugs - decriminalisation of possession presumably for er 'private' use

All the same problem - addiction, chemical dependency, whatever term suits you. Perhaps poly-drug dependency is the most common problem these days with teens, 20s, & 30s, the gateway drug being alcohol in this country, as has always been the case.

Citizens Assembly - Drugs - decriminalisation of possession presumably for er 'private' use

and when they decriminalised the possession of illegal substances in certain areas. One possible conclusion is that our TransAtlantic brethren aren’t good at this stuff. Maybe we should look elsewhere for guidelines or solutions. Where to look? How about here at home and have a gander at how...

Citizens Assembly - Drugs - decriminalisation of possession presumably for er 'private' use

I’d prefer if you took time to reflect on where the legalisation of alcohol and tobacco has led us. Despite a couple of hundred years experience of the legal sale and consumption of alcohol and tobacco-based products, we STILL have no adequate supports, next to zero effective legal, medical or...

Citizens Assembly - Drugs - decriminalisation of possession presumably for er 'private' use

For those who mystifyingly still think that decriminalization of illicit drug use and possession are great ideas, please read about the consequences and how some “decriminalisers”, lauded as visionaries, now want to row back on their commitments. If these articles disappear behind paywalls...

    McKinsey Woes, A Heartrending Story . . .

And still the numbers of cost and time over-runs and missing deliverables continue to multiply. "But so like hey, look, listen,- we had management consultants on board from day 1, like, not our fault. "

Will dictates house to be sold - how long does executor have to sell?

What major discount? If the resident sibling buys your mother's home his "discount" is the 25% he will own through your mother's will, post probate based on market valuation by a professional. Beware of offering "discounts" over and above the 25% ownership, you may create tax-problems for all...

    Easter 25 Years Later

Today, is March 29th, Good Friday, 2024. 25 years ago in 1999, Good Friday was on 2nd April and on that date our beautiful little son and my daughter's brother Mark departed this earth from the paediatric unit in hospital. I miss him every bit as much today as I did that night. Not a day...

Monthly budgeting when spouse is paid 4-weekly

I can’t see what the problem is or maybe I have a different perspective. You have fixed amounts of money coming in at fixed times; you have fixed and variable amounts of money going out - the old cash-flow conundrum. One suggestion is to smooth out the peaks and valleys, for example: Motor...

Can I refuse to have my ESB Meter replaced with a Smart Meter?

According to a headline in yesterday's Irish Independent at least 80,000 of the shiny new digital devices are giving inaccurate readings, who'da thunk? I mean all the high-paid help, expensive contractors and the Greens and they end up back on square one...

Agreed - a complete waste of time, money, and effort and in far too many cases, lives. Unless they get suitable treatment promptly. Compulsory treatment, as an alternative to prison, is always destined to fail, no matter how many times its tried. And I'd like to see a lot of the centrally...

Car dispute with dealer and recurring problems not resolved

I'd be very sceptical about using an organisation whose members, motor traders, dealers, mechanics, etc pay to have the SIMI represent their interests. I don't believe they can represent their paid members' interest and fairly represent a consumer in a dispute. Did you sign the infamous SIMI...

    Re-Turn Plastic Bottles

I have raised several issues with the scheme as implemented, suggesting my own sensible solutions to some of them. The volume of stuff I will now need to store at home was one of the first. Not just the need to store the stuff, but to store it so it remains in pristine condition, no dents, no...
