    Change of status credits

Good to know S class. I finished paying a d stamp in Jan 2018 and paid an a stamp starting in Nov 2019. I thought that I would not get much for change of status because of the gap. Will have to look at it again

Key Post UK State Pension - Make voluntary contributions to qualify for UK pension on top of Irish pension

You are assuming they will pay the oldest year. They may allocate it to a recent one. If you are paying money you need to tell them what it is for. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to do this. Yes delays are frustrating but I have found hmrc good to deal with and their app is great.

Did you ring them and tell them what years to allocate it to? I do that about a week or two after paying.

    Voluntary PRSI contributions

My understanding is that credits only count if you have 520 paid prsi. They can be used to help the average rule. I am unclear on how they count in the tca calculation.

Does system update after response to cf83 form

Yes it is set to class 3 even if you have letter for class 2. It does not matter. I am currently buying back years every couple of months. I send the money then ring them to tell them what year to allocate it to. It can take a few weeks to update on the system but with every year I buy my...

    Calculating Contributory OAP using TCA

It sounds as if she was public service. If public service she has to apply to them for her pension. They do not contact her. I am sure there are loads of people who worked the public sector who never claim because they don't realise this.

    Paying voluntary UK NIC contributions

Hi Chewbacca PRSI record can't be requested on irish mygov. I don't think you can send online. I suggest you send a list of all your employers with dates, your job title and employers address with the record. That's what I did. I got mainly class 2 but some years were a little higher when I was...

Qualifying for the UK State Pension - reply received

You have to give them details of employment in order to qualify to pay class 2. The more information you provide the better. Some people have sent a copy of their prsi record from ireland. They won't just accept you were employed without some detail.

    Putting house into joint names

Not sure if this is the right forum. House is in husbands name because it was his family home and we used his share as deposit and bought siblings out. Solicitor said we would pay tax if my name put on it but could change in s few years. Is this something we can do without solicitor. Mortgage is...

Preserved pre-2013 pension and rejoining public service

Is the pre 2013 pension based on the D stamp? If so it is separate and you will get at age 60. If it is the a stamp it is probably still separate. The new pension is single pension scheme and retirement age is in line with state pension age. You will get part pension from this. The amount of...
