Contesting mother's will while she is still alive

No. Yes IANAL Its nothing to do with your assets; a claim would be based on your parent(s) failure to provide for you as a child. I'm not sure you would succeed on those grounds. In a nutshell, yes. This is the heart of the issue: take a deep breath & step back. People are more important...

    How can/could Revenue "find out"?

There is absolutely nothing in the OP to suggest such a thing!

    Fair deal scheme questions

Any gifts within 5 years of claiming for HSE Subvention are included as assets; so you don't have the money, but HSE assess you as if you do.

An Post office - crazy rule!

I've reverted lately to printed/ posted correspondence with my bank - it's quicker than waiting in a queue either in person or on a phone!

    Fair deal scheme questions

Indeed, but Dad can give a gift to offspring and grand-offspring of 3k per person per year if they so wish. But it's better not to be claiming HSE subvention in this case. Again, it's down to crunching the numbers.

    How can/could Revenue "find out"?

The question is what AML documentation was already lodged with Solicitor and if a loan agreement is in place. In any event from the OPs side, I'm slowing reverting back to an SEP point of view.

    How can/could Revenue "find out"?

On my first reading, I wondered about the AML declaration that the Solicitor doing the conveyancing would have looked for; but I guess a letter from Uncle would have covered that. In which case there is a legally relied upon document confirming that this is a gift. There's a part of me that...

Can I give tenants a discount of the amount increased by rent review?

Are you certain about that? do you have a link? I've given a 'month free' discount in the past where tenant has agreed to do deep clean/ garden work, certainly never said anything to RTB about it.

    Fair deal scheme questions

No: savings are included until they run down to €36k (this figure may be updated since I last checked). If you don't take out the loan, there's nothing to repay You'll need to crunch the numbers. Assuming you are a higher rate tax payer, pay the nursing home fees yourself and claim the tax back

Off the Plans Home Almost Built

Best advice I can give you is to live in the space for at least 6 months before you start decorating. Ask around your extended family for curtains/sofas/rugs/lamps etc., they can toss your way. Start haunting your local charity shops for crockery & cutlery. You'll pick up second hand bed...

    Probate office - Dublin

Both statements can't be true re the same estate. Grant of Probate means the Will is 'proven' and exec can proceed with distribution. If there are outstanding queries, Grant of Probate would not have issued.

What has the Probate office got to do with transfer of property? Was there a will? Do you have Grant of Probate?

I doubt it's anything so thought through; they've just never automated the process like birth / marriage / death certificates.

Renting Individual Rooms In House, Box Room Tenant Has Taken Over Living Room

Thats where the problem arises. If this is the only property you own, you could return to living there yourself.

    Probate office - Dublin

See post # 6 with link to online search. If you want a copy of the documents you have to print a form (an excel sheet in fact) and post in a hard copy along with a cheque. Seems incredibly quaint in this day and age.
