Is this not speculation and talking down the market which is prohibited and for which many have been banned?

    FG/Labour increase mortgage repayments

The coalition has now moved to increase mortgage repayments for those with house loans with the government controlled banks. These include EBS increase in variable rate by 0.6% from Apr 1st INBS to increase variable rate by 0.65% AIB to increase fixed rate by 1% So helping those with repayment...

Job transfer to another local authority

I was reluctant to approach my own HR and let them know that I wanted to leave until I found out if transfers were possible but given that nobody I asked or approached knew for sure I eventually requested a meeting with head of HR and asked. The answer was that they do not allow transfers to...

Job transfer to another local authority

Checked union magazines (Impact) but no mention. Do not have contact with or even know who union rep is. Read Croke Park agreement but it doesn't seem to be covered. I assume that it is no longer possible.

Job transfer to another local authority

If you are working in a local authority is it possible to transfer to a different local authority. Croke Park redeployment seems to only cover transfers when one Council has a surplus of staff which is never going to happen. If you are working in one local authority with staff shortages and want...

EBS to increase variable mortgage rate

Rate increase from April 1st. This really shows up FG hypocrisy. They are promising to help those in negative equity and with repayment difficulties and yet they will be fully supporting mortgage interest increases in EBS which is owned by the state. Apparantly its a commercial decision and they...

    Getting out of Affordable housing

There is probably a difference between what the Council has set the market price at and what you think you can sell it for. The clawback is based on the Councils valuation of the property rather than what you actually sell it for.

    Getting out of Affordable housing

this is not an open discussion forum. implying that property prices might go down wll get you banned. saying that those who want to maintain property prices are in denial is not a good idea if you want to be allowed to continue to post here. Big Brother is watching you.

Applying for Mortgage, but been overdrawn in previous months

Refused by BOI. Reason given was occasional use of overdraft facility (savings were being paid to fixed term account) not an issue with AIB.

Do KBC offer mortgage payment holidays?

You are unlikely to get a proper answer to the query from a call centre. I assume the OP will be approaching the bank but just wanted some general info first.

    Using gift as deposit

Might be worth your while submitting applications to BOI and EBS if the statements are insufficient or they have other conditions.

    Using gift as deposit

Seems unusual and I suspect they may be looking for reasons to refuse the application. Which bank are you applying to?

Rent a room scheme for mortgage approval

EBS will take future income from renting rooms into consideration on mortgage applications AIB and BOI won't.

Just received new rate options PTSB. Opinions please

Tracker would be the best option. TSB could have a variable rate increase independent of ICB which probably won't raise rates this year.

What options for a pensioner renting privately?

Have a relative in a similar situation. however she has an inheritance which she is using to subsidise bedsit rent although it will only last a few years. She did get an offer of a room from a voluntary organisation although it was poor qualiy and overpriced compared to her current room. would...

Standard variable - EBS or AIB ?

I think that the reason that they do not do so is because existing customers are offered different fixed rates "on a case by case basis" whiich seems a bit unfair.

Standard variable - EBS or AIB ?

I think that the effective nationalism of EBS means that they are less likely than AIB to have a further rate increase soon independently of the ICB which will probably leave rates unchanged until at least the end of the year. but I could be wrong.

    Affordable Homes in Cork city

Think carefully before you commit. Be aware as well that you will be liable for a clawback if you sell and that Cork City Council has a policy of requiring successful applicants to pay rent for a period before they are allowed to sign contracts.
