New collections team at ACC Bank. Thoughts?

Just wondering how other mortgage holders are finding the new collections team at the ACC Bank? I am not holding out much hope and cannot imagine common sense will prevail but I stand to be corrected. I pay my full P&I each month but I cannot pay my arrears. I'm getting demand letters but...

CU set shares agains loan for terminally ill member, and now won't pay death benefits

I agree that some aspects of this story are not waying up but I am wary of the CU's motives to offset the savings against the loan. I had a loan with the CU that was in difficulty but they refused time and time again to offset my shares against it so I find them a bit trigger happy in this...

CU set shares agains loan for terminally ill member, and now won't pay death benefits

Don't you think no final response smells? Sure sounds odd from were I'm sitting.

CU set shares agains loan for terminally ill member, and now won't pay death benefits

CU Manager . . . you leave me flabbergasted. When oh when will our financial institutions use registered post? A simple registered letter would have nipped this case in the bud a long time ago. The CU could have proved the BIL received their corrospondences in the post. Simple as.

AIB write off 150k. IMHO helped.

David Hall seems to have the Midas touch. Wish he'd share his secret with the rest of us.

AIB write off 150k. IMHO helped.

Maybe it's because I'm single and have no dependent's but I have always found the services of these 'companies' very vague; when I have dealt with them. I was never instilled with a sense of confidence that I would walk away with the golden chalice, have a large write down (like the family in...

On what grounds is a mortgage deemed unsustainable?

Hi Brendan, From my own case, it is not that simple. I was scolded for insinuating that I would cease all payments on my unsecured debt in favour of my mortgage. It's a no win situation. The mortgage institutions simply want you paying it all.

Key Post ACC wants me to sell my home. What Happens Next?

OK folks, the latest on this long running saga. My suppossed court date has now come and gone. There was no court. Further investigation by me yielded no papers were lodged; so far, even though I had been informed that they were intending to pursue me. I continue to pay full P&I each month...

On what grounds is a mortgage deemed unsustainable?

Wise words but I tried this move myself, before I finally got the unsecured debts paid off. My mortgage bank were non to pleased with me not paying my unsecured debt even though they would have been benefiting! They will look at the over all picture, not just the money that is owed to them...

Bidding war in a private sale - advice please...

+ 1 @ Mercman. I am probably going to be blasted for my conspiracy theory; but where I am living there have been a few repossessions, keys handed back by occupiers rather than the banks chasing them. The properties have all been sold, quick smart, and all notably to mid to low income...

    GP's and the recession!

I was at my local GP today for a minor issue. He referred me to a consultant for clarification on the matter. When leaving, the GP issued me with the letter of referral to the hospital consultant. Normally such letters would not be seen by the patient and the GP would forward the request...

Yes I believe so. I was advised of the pending Court action three months ago.

Key Post ACC wants me to sell my home. What Happens Next?

OK guys, Court looms and my mortgage has been deemed unsustainable. The bank are looking for a voluntarily sale or voluntary possession. I am sticking my feet in and going to refuse them as I am paying my mortgage. I am looking to get my Court appearance changed as I am trying to find out why...

Key Post ACC wants me to sell my home. What Happens Next?

Thanks unsub. They have been a nightmare to deal with. Do you know of anybody who has actually staved them off? Can they actually go to Court so soon after leaving MARP? Thanks.

First insolvency settlement with mortgage debt

I believe Dublin City Council has plans on building 5,000 houses as per a council meeting last night. God only knows when this will happen.

    Phibsboro

I am unsure of both these areas you mention but I do note that Phibsboro is losing it's appeal, well for me anyway. It's become quite run down. There seems to be lots of vacent properties so I would advise with caution.

Key Post ACC wants me to sell my home. What Happens Next?

Hi Unsub, My conveyance was carried out by a solicitor who is now retired but looking through the documentation I have; I note that the property is registered. All is above board and I did borrow the money knowing what I was getting involved in. I hear were you are coming from but I am not...

Key Post ACC wants me to sell my home. What Happens Next?

Thank you Gerry. Next month I will be three months without the protection of MARP. They say once three months are up they are well within their right to go to Court. Is this incorrect?
