Workers' Rights re Method of Salary Payment

As I said the principle is I have a right to be paid by cheque. This isn't the only issue. Management got a list of 10 items in as part of the SP Agreement without consulting the Union. Normally issues would be discussed not forced upon people. To the others no I am not a train driver...

Workers' Rights re Method of Salary Payment

Sherman. Do you feel Management have the right to everything they want without negotiations ? Do you want workers to give up all their rights? Why bother having unions then?

Workers' Rights re Method of Salary Payment

Diziet, I have a right to be paid by cheque and I do count it as being heavy handed management taking that right from me without consultation. It is not Paypath as such that is the problem it is the principle of it. Management now needn't negotiate with union members any longer they can...

Workers' Rights re Method of Salary Payment

Thanks aj That may be true but now I know my employer has managed to get this clause in as part of the SP2 agreement for our sector with the result that if we do not go on Paypath we will be deemed as non compliant and not receive any of the pay rises in the new SP agreement. To me this is a...

Turning 65 - what should exemption amount be on tax credits?

Tommyboy. I am no expert on this but this is the way I see it. If you continued to be taxed the way you were taxed before retiring and lets say your salary was €34,000 per annum. You would be liable for 34000 at 20% = €6800 tax /annum less your tax credits. (Married Tax credit 3260, PAYE Tax...

    Gift of site

If everything is right with your application to planning as far as I know they they must decide within eight weeks not four months unless they come back to you with a request for further information. On the 7 year occupancy issue if you defaulted on your mortgage payments I am sure the Bank...

    Gift of site

Have you got PP for this house? A condition normally attached to PP now is that you or a member of your family must live in the house for a period of five to seven years before you can sell the house.

    Land Transfer / Gift Tax

Transferring the land now, at agricultural value without pp, keeping it below the gift tax threshold is legal. OurFella : If that is the case then revenue will never again get Gift Tax for the transfer of "a site" between brothers, uncles and nephews etc. All these people have to do is...

    Land Transfer / Gift Tax

My brother gifted me 0.6 acres for the purpose of building a house. My solicitor said that there was no point in trying to say that it was just a plot of land that revenue would see it as a site not just a piece of land and as such I would be liable for Gift tax and my brother would be liable...

How do you know the oil man is telling truth?

Re: How do you know the oil man is telling truth?? I did ask to have the tank topped up. It had at least 200L in it. My tank according to the manufacturers was a 1000L tank and the maximum it could take was 1050L yet he charged for adding 1300L.

Re: How do you know the oil man is telling truth?? I have a 1000L oil tank and my ex oil man managed to fit 1300L oil into it even though the tank had some oil (around 200L) in it. You do need to keep an eye on them.
