    Travel - would you go?

Hi Sunnygirl69 I’m afraid I never made it. Covid had other plans for me mid December. But while I’m here. I must say AER LINGUS was great! They made a goodwill gesture and refunded my entire cost - fees included. Great, indeed brilliant, customer service. Enjoy your trip. Marion

How do I add my vaccination certificate to my wallet on my iPhone?

I have the covid cert on Wallet. It’s a blue background. On the two occasions I have been asked to show it, there has been an elelement of suspicion as to whether it is legitimate or not. Neither person had seen it before. However, thankfully, the scanner works on it! Marion

Guinness Nitrosurge - anyone tried it ? Is double the price justified ?

I’m not a Guinness drinker … but I’m sure the pub experience far out ways the experience of having Guinness at home. Maybe, I’m biased. Having said that, I’d buy this as as a present for friends who love Guinness. Marion

"good ventilation more important than distancing"

What is good ventilation? I open bottom windows and top windows and leave the door open in the rooms where I work. I do not allow them to be closed. The building is airtight, but with no mechanical ventilation. Students already complaining and constantly closing windows. They are immediately...

I’m happy enough to be monitored by the covid app. I meet up to and over 80 adults (obviously from different households) between 9 and 4 at work each day for one or two hours - Approx 12 per hour. . Probably not much point though if adults I am in contact with don’t have the app activated; I am...

    Insurance: Working from home COVID-19

Are there Home insurance implications in relation to working from home? I’m thinking in relation to future work as I didn’t think of this during the current lockdown. (I’m back in the workplace currently - which is specifically allowed.) What if employer provides office equipment, PC/laptop...

Will you go for a pint when restrictions are lifted?

Having lived over a pub and worked in it for a substantial part of my life, I understand the difficulties that pub owners are facing. I can’t wait to have an opportunity to have a drink with friends, albeit in a safe environment. In general, I would be looking for pubs that held high standards...

Ryanair making it difficult for customers to get refunds

I read somewhere that refunds would be given when COVID19 no longer existed - whenever that happens! I think it was an Irish Times article. found it. “In a new statement to The Irish Times on Wednesday, Ryanair stresses that it will give affected customers “all of the options set out under EU...

What PPE should staff in nursing homes be wearing when interacting with residents?

Gloves, face mask minimum. Make sure you know how to put on and take off and dispose of gloves and face mask safely. Wash your hands before and after you put them on. This is crucial for your personal safety and safety of others. Marion

    Hospital bag

I asked my niece working in the frontline this question. Having established I was not sick she replied: Initially people were being admitted for being positive, now only very sick are being admitted, so I’d say they wouldn’t need much.... clean underwear, a toothbrush & a sense of humour...
