Career break and working elsewhere - public sector?

My husband might be seconded across to the other side of the country with his job for a couple of years. I work in the public service for a voluntary hospital in a job I don't want to quit. Can I take a career break and work elsewhere - it doesn't seem so? Is there any way to get around this...

Work grade and job share in public sector

A new job post was created at work (public sector). Funding was provided for a ‘grade 4’ position. There was a part time worker who was entitled to take 1/2 of that position, which they did. However, they got their portion as a ‘grade 5’ because they had been working at that grade all along. My...

Health Insurance Alternative to current insurance policy

Thanks very much Snowyb, since I wrote I found out that we can get a discount on my husbands policy of 25% through his work but we have to go with Be Fit 3. I’m still not sure if this is a good policy even with the discount. Some of the other plans that you suggested seem better. Can you tell me...

Health Insurance Alternative to current insurance policy

I (40) am on VHI Company plan extra level 2 that I use it quiet a bit and we have 2 children both of whom are on the same plan. The baby by default and a 3 year old. I’m due to renew next month and having both children on this plan seems a bit excessive and costly. The 3 year old has a...

    Non-contributory pension worth applying for?

She hasn’t a medical card. She has the drug payment card which caps at 134€. She’s just had a knee replacement and has back issues so she’s at the 134, plus necessary physio, plus vhi payments every month.

My mum is 83, my father is deceased. She has no stamps as she never worked in Ireland; she did work in UK for 3 years but needs 10 years of NI contributions which she doesn’t have and it’s too late to buy more. She is receiving a pension from my deceased fathers pension of 1200 a month but is...

External wall insulation - whats the best material?

Sorry, my mails went into spam. Yes, as leo said they are the curved ceilings. When the weather is cold it comes straight through the curved point where there's no insulation.

External wall insulation - whats the best material?

We definitely don't have the space to go internal. There is damp in the curved part of the ceiling (the ceilings are raked) as there is zero insulation between that point and the roof. There is none anywhere else.

External wall insulation - whats the best material?
