Well done to the cabin crew or an overreaction?

I think massive overreaction too but I suppose when you are in an airplane it probably isn't the time for joking around given the history to panic in these situations.

Mortgages seem "unreachable" for the average Joe. Am I missing something?

I wonder is the part of the problem is that most people are marrying older and so are generally buying their first house older than previous generations so have less time to get to where they eventually want to live given they are starting later. I bought my first house at 27 and my husband...

Change Name when emigrating to avoid creditors

Agree with Bronte as have seen the reality of this with my relative trying to mange his house from Canada. It ended up their parents having constant calls from the agent and they certainly didn't want or were able for the hassle. THey are on the road to a resolution hopefully but it was only...

    Diabetics injecting in public

I think the customer should have done it in the bathroom if not at a table on his own or with his own party. My aunt has diabetes and would often check her bloods while in my company and would have no problem with that but then she knows my attitude to her doing so.

ECB cuts base rate to 0.05%

Those on interest only trackers must be paying very low amounts. We are on a ecb plus .75%. We pay 850 a month. Never checked how much of that is interest versus capital.

    Payment for holidays not taken

This happened in our workplace twice (good many years ago) One employee never took a lunch break even but was caught defrauding when on maternity leave and another senior guy (large defrauding) when his mother died suddenly. This happened in a large firm and was undeteced by auditors.

Granite Worktop – Flutes in granite versus stainless steel draining board

We have granite and love it. We have the flutes in the granite and looks much nicer than the traditional stainless option. We have ours for over 10 years now and love it. The water does drain off but I actually use a cloth on the granite to soak up the water instead. Got them in homestore...

We would like to keep the hotel costs as near to €400 for the 3 nights if possible. Obviously not expecting luxury for that price but once clean and central we don't mind too much. Thanks for the tip regarding the train!
