    Irish online travel booking sites

Well, there is an advantage to using a referral site if it gives a range of options rather than go to each individual travel site. I don't know this site but if it shows everything on the market inc insurance etc it could save time. As regards Irish travel agents protection. A travel agent...

    Question Regarding Yield

I didn't see this thread till now, so thi is probably out of date. If one gets 400 for one floor per week and the same for each of the other two floors that's 1.200 per week. 60.000+ per annum gross rent Or if one gets 400 for the ground floor and the same for both the other floors combined...

LPT: Can revenue put the onus on a tenant to give the owners name PPS no etc?

Is there no proper system of registering every property in ireland -Land Registry etc ? You'd think in this day and age that a few presses of the computer button would reveal ownership of every square inch of land.

Where can I exchange 5K worth of Euro Coins in to Cash

And nobody has asked how any sane or tax-compliant person would have got 5.000 euros worth of coins .

    Investing in Property

I note that inheritance/gift thresholds are diminishing rapidly. Would it be beneficial to gift OP's kids the 180k, and whatever income is earned from the investment ,property or shares, will be tax-free as they'll each earn less than 16k p.a. Otherwise whatever OP earns is cut in half by...

    procedures at accident scene

One thing is certain. There is absolutely no need ,and indeed it is illegal (though gardai admit they rarely do anything about it) to block traffic with two safely driveable cars if each driver is capable of doing so.

    water charges -apartments and tenants.

Interesting stuff so far; confirms my feeling that it'll all be a bit messy for a year or two. Also, despite the message that this payment is for water usage I have no doubt that many tenants will feel that this is another increase on rent, thus making it harder for LLs to charge a real rent...

    water charges -apartments and tenants.

I can't seem to find any definitive info regarding how apartments will be charged for water usage other than a general opinion that they will not be individually metered and thus not individually charged. I'm not even sure whether the owner or the tenant will be legally liable to pay water...

    Getting to&from Tampa

yes, that is probably the quickest way to get to Tampa. But if you don't fancy a couple of hours drive after a long flight (could be longer drive on arrival -as it's rush-hour on the I.4. highway out of Orlando Mons-Fris) then the alternative flights viia various places will costs on average...

Cardiac MRI: hospital said I was covered but insurance company say Im not.

unless one were to study every detail of the VHI policy -small print etc - plsu anything you may or may not have signed , then nobody can give you 100% advice. However.... Based on what you have stated there seems little doubt that you are blameless and that it is between the hospital and VHI...

Charged by BOI for "Facility" I never sought.

Have only just asked my "relationship manager " about the €25 annual fee AIb charged me for "facility" since 2006. It's one thing to cancel it - of course OP can do this. But do I and OP and countless others have the right to demand a refund on the basis that we never asked for it.? This...

    Advice on tenant issues

Of course, giving 28 days notice doesn't mean you'll get vacant possession for months to come - nor compensation for the many months lost rent.

2 bed investment apartment, in/around Dublin city center. Any areas better / worse?

Good rentals -close to centre and only few hundred yards from both Mater and Temple St hospital-good for rentals one beds 900 two beds 1.000-1.200 depending. The yields here are good. I said before the best investments are not the places one would choose to live. However, although near some...

    Orange Order marching season

Delgirls' idea about a N.I. national day is great idea. After all, increasingly, N.Ireland is a separate entity and not just politically. As far as most people I know in the "south" are concerned the N.Irish are all the same, whether Prods or RCs, and have increasingly little in common with...

Is the NPPR and household Charge deductible

What is "private correspondence"? Are these letters from the Revenue stating that LPT is NOT a deductible expence.? If so that is quite dramatic news and surelya precursor to an official announcement. Or did I misunderstand Joe90/TMcG posts? I fear that Revenue may be adopting the same...

Is the NPPR and household Charge deductible

Haven't you guys who advise clients on tax affairs -or your official body/bodies whatever they are - not spoken to Revenue yet and got an official yes or not as to whether such-and such is tax allowable?

2 bed investment apartment, in/around Dublin city center. Any areas better / worse?

One big aspect of AAM is being able to ask questions and get opinions from others who may have experience or knowledge or just a particular view about the subject.

2 bed investment apartment, in/around Dublin city center. Any areas better / worse?

Following is purely my own prejudicial view -working 33 years in that area and owning apts for much of that time..... There are hundreds of apts in and next to those streets mostly occupied by respectable generally youngish people , Irish and foreign. Not rough but certainly not posh...
