Both in our mid to late sixties. Currently on VHI HealthPlus Excess costing €1734 each and considering Laya Simply Connect costing €1100 so giving a combined saving of over €1200!
I can't see any drastic drop in cover by moving to Laya but is there something I'm missing?
Would appreciate any...
Thanks Snowyb for the info, a mine of information as usual!
I'll look at those plans before deciding.
The situation is not helped by the fact that there is a myriad of plans to choose from! Thanks again.
Married couple, mid to late sixties, no significant on-going health issues, with VHI since the seventies and reluctant to leave but the price difference here is very significant. (€3650 as against €2380).
Is there some glaring difference in benefits that I'm not seeing?
Coming towards the end of...
Brother died intestate a few years back.
He was never married but has an adult daughter. He also has adult siblings, sisters and brothers.
Am I correct in thinking that his entire estate goes to his daughter only, or do the siblings have any entitlement?
Just for info.
Was in touch with VHI today as I'm 13 days into my cooling-off period and they advised me that they have extended the deadline for another week. I'm not sure why, possibly because of Christmas/New Year holiday period but thought this might be of interest to others in a similar...
Yes I've done that and that's why I ask is it too good to be true.
Can I be sure that the Laya price won't increase by a massive percentage in a few months time?
Married couple in our sixties (65 and 63) and renewal is 1st jan 2017. We are currently on VHI HealthPlus Excess costing €3600 total.
Checking on this site I see a lot of praise for Laya Simplicity plan and I can only say that it almost looks too good to be true as we would save €1425 a year...
The testator is indeed deceased and the will was made only a few weeks before he died. It would not be a complex will. Apparently the solr admits to having lost it but a softcopy is available on his computer system. There would, of course, be no signatures on the softcopy.
Thanks Snowyb for the clarification. It's reassuring to know that.
The reason I'm not sure they will cover treatment is that there was a cosmetic element to the original surgery which was carried out some 27 years ago and there was no involvement of VHI in it. As far as I can remember we didn't...
If, during the cooling-off period, I either change plan or change insurer does the new plan automatically backdate to the beginning of the cooling-off period?
My plan auto-renewed on Jan 1st but if I were to change now to either a different VHI Plan or indeed to a different insurer would there...
Agreed.... and as far as I'm concerned it's the Regulator's job to sort this out. We have a ridiculous situation where there is a myriad of plans available some with very little differences. The HIA's own plan comparison site throws up so many results that meaningful comparison becomes well nigh...
Couldn't agree more! The HIA site throws up so many results that meaningful comparison is still very unwieldy. I definitely think the regulator should step in here.
What we need is a relatively small number of plans standardised across all insurers so we can compare like with like.
