quotes for a fitted kitchen in a new build: varying 20-28k, does this sound right?

Re: quotes for a fitted kitchen in a new build: varying 20-28k, does this sound right Doesnt sound too unreasonable for what you are asking for. Granite costs approx €1k per sq metre so that automatically adds a large portion - it would have cost us an extra 5k to get granite so we had to...

    Self build or contractor

Was in the same position - looking at pros and cons of Direct Labour Vs Contractor............very tempted to go down DL route becuase of savings but really I don't have a clue about building. Decision was made when we got a really competative quote of €85 sq foot for builders finish from a...

    contemporary windows & bifold door.

Hi Marvin do a 10ft wide double sliding patio door (2 fixed panes on either side) - think that they even go up the the 12ft size. Look fab. With Marvin though, you need to build your openings to their standard sizes so if you have already built openings then not really an option.

Using bamboo as a screen in the garden

We put some up 2 years ago but it has all come down this winter with all the wind etc & looks pretty crap. I would recommend planting a laurel hedge or something for a longer term solution...................or going halves with next door neighbour and building solid wall for longer term! o...

Lying to recruitment agency about current salary

It doesnt really matter what you are currently on - what matters is what you are looking for...............if you say you are looking for X then that is what the recruitment agency is going to be using as a basis for seeing if certain jobs suit you. There is no need to discuss your current...

Cheque problem: maiden vs married name?

I don't think that your wife needs to change name on bank account - she just needs to show her marriage cert to show that the cheque is meant for her - I can understand their need for this. Its simple enough.

    Best place to recruit accountants?

I have to say that while I see your point, the use of a recruitment agency is probably your best bet. I know that when I was looking for a job there was very little point in looking at newspapers & even on websites it took a lot of time to filter through all the different jobs - with the...
