Hi Society..just to throw a bit more light on it in case it helps..i have an apt with dlr co co which i'm looking into selling.. i was advised yesterday that if my purchase price years ago was 190k and i sold it for 210k then i would give the council 20k and keep the rest to pay off the mortgage...
I only received mine last week from DLR,apparently they were running way behind with all their correspondence..now im waiting on the extra mortgage relief from the finance bill so fingers crossed that will be soon!
Thanks for that Brooklyn. Does that mean that the amendment that was being drafted for allowing the remortgage option in the Residential Tenancies Bill (not sure if thats the exact name) is now cancelled? I cant keep up anymore!!

Fingers crossed whoever gets voted in then will look at amending this. I enquired about buying my apt out recently and if i was to go to get a mortgage outside the council & buy them out then i would be subject to a 50% clawback! So i'll definitely be waiting for them to amend the existing rule..
Thanks for the update tina. I dont understand this at all. I got correspondence on behalf of John Gormley before and it said that it was scheduled to go through legislation. Also if they have already changed the clawback provision for affordable housing/shared ownership owners from now going...
I just spoke to the Housing Dept and they said that at the moment there is no housing legislation due to go forward soon that will incorporate this affordable housing condition so god knows when it will end up being approved..have to wait for the next housing legislation to happen..
I just spoke to someone in the Dept of Environment there and apparently there was a problem with it being included as an amendment in this bill and they have to wait until the next appropriate housing legislation! So again its on hold until god knows when.. Dont suppose anyone heard anything...
I had a look here previously and i couldnt find any mention of it.. at the same time i didnt know if that meant it was cos it wasnt there or cos it was hidden in all the jargon. I really hope it doesnt mean that its not going to be included in this bill either :-(
I was told by someone in the Housing Dept that it will be included at the amendment stage of the bill which will be at the end i assume.. that maybe why you dont see anything about it now..so they said anyway.
Afraid not Dozy :-( Still waiting.. Its at the Committee Stage now but the Dail are finished until next week on easter hols so might get more of an idea after that when it might come up..fingers crossed it'll be done before the summer hols!!

Does anyone have any idea if this legislation might go through before the dail break for the summer? It seems like its going on forever :-)

All I know is that its back in the Dail on Wednesday but it still has one or two more stages to go so its a guessing game how long it will take..hopefully soon though.
