Small savings per month - where is best rate?

I currently save €100 per month into an account in the credit union at 2.5% interest (but minus dirt). Looked ip "its your money" but they have not done a survey for small timers like me! any ideas where has a better rate for this small amount. I don't need to access it for a few years.

Phantom Bidding - How to prevent?

I would say NEVER say you are really interested then they wil pester you to up the price with ghost bidders etc etc, but i would say i was bidding on other houses and that i can move quickly when sale agreed happens and that i want to be in my house sooner rather than later....

    Stolen bike.

having had my house robbed 2 years ago i can tell you i felt the same disgust and upset. Only thing that seemes to deter these folks is alarms and having to go looking for stuff, therefore i recommend you start teaching your children the importance of putting the bikes, scooters, skates away in...

Crazy Neighbours are flooding our foundations

sounds like a plan! I would also get some legal advice but it does seem like you are doing all that you can within the law. I would not try anothing remotely illegal much and all as they are trying to rise you, stooping to their level will only make things even worse.

17 yr old thrown out of home

I "hardly think" it could not be afforded either Lauren (Paris trip being mentioned for me to surmise this). The reason I suggested boarding school is that it might help the 17 year old get a handle on life and not continue being a pawn in her mothers/parents tooing and fro'ing. I also seems OP...

17 yr old thrown out of home

the suggestion I have is a bit left field but how about sending the 17 year old to boarding school for her final year? She is in LC year and i think thats what is important here, her mother is screwing around with her daughters potential to get at her ex. I know you feel her friends are...

    bringing up baby Channel 4

Anyone watch this last night? there will be about 4/5 parts of it. It was getting volunteers to use various methods of child care in the first week after birth and it will track the couples and children for the next 3 months. Interesting for any new parents. for me Dr. Spock is winning out of...

Present for wife for to mark birth of junior

As a woman who never wears her jewellary unless i feel i need it i still am happy that i have a few "good pieces" that i can pull out for the special occasion. So don't rule out the bling altogether. I would value a massage / facial voucher so she can slip out when she feels up to it and relax...

    advice on managing income

I agree however i think maybe you are feeling bothered that you can plough through money and not see anything at the end of the month - to show for your 7K+income - thats the point of this post, no? If i were you I would save a bigger fall back on fund or maybe just start saving for the "once in...

First time buyers - best location to buy around Cork City?

also blackrock/ ballintemple/ ballinlough have good bus routes and are good areas - you might not get as nice a house (regarding newness and all mod cons as houses seem to be older but detached) for what you are willing to pay there though.

First time buyers - best location to buy around Cork City?

i would second the recommendation for Frankfield, Ardfield/Grange, Donnybrook outside of Douglas as they do have a great bus link however the traffic to get onto the link is awful if you leave after 8am.

    Religion in School

I do know that catholic schools have a selection process but because they are the only show in most towns down through the years they acepted pretty much all applicants and that meant that classes of 30+ were becoming common in the 80s and 90's. The rule was there but I dont believe was...

    Religion in School

And its possible there is the same rule for CoI except they say " Oh well we can't do without you - so we will hire you - based on supply and demand" ? I am not a teacher and I cannot say such rules exist to this day- so maybe if there is a teacher they can confirm if there is or is not...
