    H & V Bathrooms - Any Views?

Randy, thanks v. much for that advice. Waiting for a quote so we'll see what that comes in at. Totally agree 10.5k in current climate is excessive. Thought tiles were expensive when visited their showrooms so reckon that will be a big chunk. Will check out that other company as well. Tigs

    H & V Bathrooms - Any Views?

Hi Has anyone recently (Summer-Autumn 09) used H & V Bathrooms? Just wondering were you happy with it and what sort of ballpark costs were you charged? Mine will be a complete strip out, replace toilet, sink, shower and tiling. Also considering Ideal Bathrooms and Classic Bathrooms...

    Kitchen door supply and fit

Re: Supply and fit new doors for kitchen That's Tallaght News that has that ad from time to time. Agree with Marykate it is a major job to hang a new door (or even rehang/restore an old door) and definitely not a DIY job. Woodies or B&Q have reasonably priced doors (sometimes old ones are not...

    Kitchen door supply and fit

Re: Supply and fit new doors for kitchen There are ads in local papers (e.g. the Tallaght Echo) for firms that supply and fit doors and the price seems reasonable (around 1k) I've no experience tho of these so maybe someone else could comment. Another way to go is visit a supplier like the...

    Window Sills

Has anyone any advice on how to go about replacing exterior concrete window sills/ledges? The previous owners of the house I live in removed the originals, with the result is that rain runs down the windows and onto the exterior paintwork and discolours it (black streaks). The replastering job...

    Demolition of Garden Shed

Thanks. Thats what I thought too but would you believe the most expensive part of breakdown is the erection of a 10m wood panel fence - almost 1400?!

    Demolition of Garden Shed

Hi I've just gotten a quote of almost 5k (including VAT) to have a concrete garden shed (about 9ft x 6) demolished. This includes sub-contract for disposal of an asbestos roof, some repairs to and erecting wooden fence panels along boundary wall. Does that seem like a fair price?

    Firhouse?

Luckycharm (not in the business yourself then?!) you're right about China House being nice, Woodstown is inferior fare - I've been given burnt rice, flacid duck and sauces with not a veg in sight. Although based on one delivery the Long Phung in Tallaght is the worst - rancid oil doesnt begin...

    Firhouse?

Thanks Truthseeker. I don't drive unfortunately so I'm reliant on shopping locally or somewhere on the bus route home. I grew up in Ballyroan and remember two butchers, a fishmonger/green-grocer (where the current one is), a mini-mart, two newsagents, a hardware, a post-office and a chipper...

    Firhouse?

Couldn't agree more on the need for more 'ateing houses' in Firhouse. The food in the 'Speaker Connolly' is a cut above average (in fact better than that even) but otherwise tend to gravitate towards Terenure. A good greengrocers and a hardware would do a roaring trade if they were to set up...

    Firhouse?

Hi, I moved to Woodlawn in Firhouse over 2 years ago. No kids but judging by the number around the area (and well behaved ones too!) it is nice place to rear a family. There sems to be a good mix of people in the area and no anti-social activity that I've picked up on. Range of schools and...

    woodlawn park grove

Hi there. You probably have moved on to pastures new but just to say my husband and myself bought a house in Woodlawn Park, Firhouse estate over two years ago. While it was an 'impulse buy' at the height of the boom, have to say the area has really grown on me and we think we got a good deal...
