    Best forex

Thanks Ciaran. I use Currencyfair for sterling and its a terrific service. But don't you need a bank account in two countries/currencies in order to complete the transaction. One thing I notice is that you need to have an account say in AIB in order to get foreign excahnge from them now. Perhaps...

There used to be free parking at Clongriffin. Don't know if that's still the case though.

Expat returning to Ireland - Where to live in Dublin?

I would have thought that most of the estates in Maynooth is pretty grim. Pot calling kettle black at the very least. Quite a good Community College in Castleknock.

    Chimneysafe

Looking for a chimney cleaning system. Came across this on the web [broken link removed] but I don't know if it is available in Ireland? Maybe someone has a better solution. Any opinions are welcome!

    Ballyboughal, Co. Dublin

Good community spirit in this area. Given the current climate I'd be a little reluctant to buy an unbuilt house. Also check the other rural villages and areas from Oldtown, Garristown and Naul.

    NAMA Deferred Payment Initiative

Know someone who lives in Delvin Banks. Nothing wrong with the houses. In fact they are well built. Just a developer who has an inflated sense of what the houses are worth.

    Tiler's rates

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but does anyone have a current rate for tilers in the Dublin area. I would presume as I'm earning considerably less than 2008 the tiler's rates would have come down also. We wish to put down polished porcelain tiles in the kitchen and hall.

    Holywell Wood Swords

A very dreary estate, a long walk from amenities. Hate the uniform look of the place and was not impressed by the showhouses all those years ago. My recommendation would be to look elsewhere.

Disagree with the new pension levy

Yes but that the OAP is deducted from your work pension (public service) if I'm not mistaken.

Disagree with the new pension levy

In addition the contributary OAP which other workers receive is not given to Public Sector Workers most of whom (post 95 entry) pay the ame level of PRSI as everyone else.

Agreed about the Honda. The older model of the Mazda had terrible lights. Were so bad they were a danger

    SWORDS estates please help!!

You can certainly buy a house in Beaumont for less than €330k. Better area than Swords (live near Swords, grew up in Beaumont) and if I worked in town would consider there first. Otherwise rent for a year and you will definitely be able to buy for the same money in Malahide or Portmarnock

    Estate Agent Fees

Paid I% + vat last year. Excellent service. House sale agreed in less than 8 weeks in North County Dublin. A little hint, check Daft or My Home and see who have sold/sale agreed houses in your area in the recent past.
