    Mice in the house

Unfortunately cats do not always get rid of mice, I had mice and came in to the living room to witness the cat sitting on the chair looking at the mouse, then looking at me with an expression that said that creature is disturbing my sleep, can you deal with it! & it was a female cat. Traps are...

What is the best budgeting app? (Preferably free) :)

+ 1 for the Revolut card - but be prepared to see just how much you spend in coffee shops! It’s easy to apply for and as well as showing you what you’re spending money on, you can split bills with other Revolut users.

    Sponsorship of family for Christmas

What about an organization like Jack & Jill or The Laura Lynn Hospice. Families with children who avail of services of these 2 organizations are often under financial pressure as often a parent has to give up work to care for a very poorly child & they have the financial burden of trips to the...

My landlords house is being repossessed, urgent advice needed?

That’s not a nice situation to be in. Looking to the future, have you registered with the Local Authority for more secure housing? Some of their housing is specifically for over 55s, your son has medical needs so that can be treated as a priority. Ask for an appointment with the Local...

New employer - change in salary package

Thanks Gerry. It's not a question of me thinking it's not enough - I know it isn't! It's a complex set up & I don't want to go into too much detail here. Was just looking for suggestions as to who would calculate the real value - to be fair to both parties.

New employer - change in salary package

Part of the organisation I work for will be taken over by a new organisation. The salary package I currently enjoy is more complex than usual. The new organisation want to remove part of my salary package & have now offered a random & paltry sum (once off payment) as 'compensation' I would...

    Joule therm heating system

Thanks guys. I was considering it for a small cottage - the heating system needs to be upgraded and thought as the insulation will be very good it might be a way of avoiding digging up floors etc to put in a new gas central heating system.

    Liberties or Stoneybatter?

mro - disappointed to hear you're not a hipster! Agree with you about the orientation, it's very important for me too, I found a beautiful cottage a couple of months ago but didn't go for it because of the north facing courtyard. Thanks.

    Liberties or Stoneybatter?

Thanks for all that. Am leaning towards Stoneybatter & yes username houses in The Batter are a bit more expensive.

    Liberties or Stoneybatter?

Thanks galway. I have looked at a few houses - I'm not keen on the area closest to the North Circular/Infirmary Rd but am open to most other parts!

    Liberties or Stoneybatter?

Looking at cottages in both the Liberties, Dublin 8 and Stoneybatter. The houses are very similar so am just looking for opinions on the areas. Am looking at the parts of Stoneybatter close to the Grangegorman campus so it will be close to a luas stop. Thanks

Making a moveable Rotary clothes line holder

My brother made an easily movable base for a rotary line by filling an old tyre with concrete - I'm guessing he put a piece of wood to make a 'bottom' but it's really easy to roll it out of the way and they live on the top of a very windy hill and it has never fallen over. Sorry he doesn't live...

    Remoska Oven

I used to have one of these and found it really useful. I bought it from Lakeland http://www.lakeland.co.uk/brands/remoska?intcmp=INTSRCH:remoska I used it quite a lot when I was renovating a house and had no kitchen! It is probably quite slow but very reliable.
