No Equity in House, split with ex!!!

l'm very sorry about your situation but if you really feel that strongly about it perhaps you could consider giving your kids to your ex and let him rare them, then you can pay maintenance perhaps? He has no home, no kids, but you have a roof over your head and a home for the kids. Sounds like...

Older child Minding a younger child?

Hi. What is the legal age in Ireland for a sibling to mind a younger sibling, for example a few hours, or overnight? For example could a 14 year old child mind a 4 year old sibling . 14 year old is quite mature and independent and trustworthy. I'd rather know the legality rather than the...

I have an old car that is off the road, but I want to keep it and restore it over time, but the wife wants it gone out of the driveway I have been looking around the internet for any places that hire car transporter trailers in the Kildare/West Wicklow/South Dublin to no avail. I'll be...

    Costs of trading

I think the stamp is worse than the CGT, purely from the competitive point of view. Perhaps more companies would have primary or secondary listings here and maybe we'd have more choice in brokerages.

    Costs of trading

Would the fact that stampduty here being 1% have any bearing on the liquidity of the market? Would abolishing stamp help improve the market, after all it seems that the government makes more from the transactions than the broker.

what's going on with my Anglo Irish Bank Shares

Lost cause I'd say. Northern rock shareholders are not being compensated by the uk government, don't know when our government will eventually announce they will not compensate anglo shareholders.

Can someone be removed as guarantor from car finance

Sue her. If she hasn't even made one payment then she hasn't a leg to stand on. Parents should stop paying and have the cars repossesed. Your parents may have a headache with smaller debts for a time , but if a daughter of mine behaved as selfishly and recklessly like that, she wouldn't be...

Opening a new Bank a/c & Laser card

Do you need to lodge cash? Seems easier to ask for pay to be sent into the account electronically. Then you can withdraw as you need from atms everywhere. My nib branch is closing but I never even stepped inside it in the last 6 years. No need with online banking and atm cards.

Are we becoming a nation of Begrudgers?

The Irish begrudgery that we all experience is part of the psyche of being irish, where the blatant unfairness that is built into our society by various concessions given to the few wealthy or well connected in law, taxation, influence, unions promotional prospects etc , insert a suspicion that...

    Pension for Child?

You could put an investment trust fund together with the child as beneficiary, once your child reaches working age and starts a pension they could add the lump sum into it, but it would be their choice at that stage whether they want to or not.

Prime Time Investigates the banking system and regulation tonight

Brendan, the criminal justice act was delayed and delayed by politicians like Lawlor et al, I don't care if everyone in Nationwide knew who their customers were, it is paramount that the paperwork and the assessment are carried out correctly . It also breeds the perception that these characters...

Is INM rights issue available to ordinary shareholders ? & Q re via NIB eBanking?

Re: INM Rights Issue The rights were trading @ 0.035 not the shares. You acquired the rights for free, if you had to purchase them from the market then you would have had to pay 0.035 for the rights and a further 5 cent to acquire the new shares. The price after the event wont double up, just...

Prime Time Investigates the banking system and regulation tonight

Funny that those who defraud the taxpayer get named and shamed by the Revenue, regardless of whether the tax evasion was intentional, misguided ,misadvised or purely with intent. Surely once an investigation is up and running, those who acquired loans without the proper documentation should also...
