Shelves that look like they are part of the wall?

Thanks mathepac, we have a carpenter coming in to lay new floors, fit kitchen and whatnot so he will be able to do it, I just wanted to make sure it could be done before I made a fool of myself asking. Would you plaster around the shelves to smooth them off with the wall?

Shelves that look like they are part of the wall?

Hi everyone, We are having some renovations in a few weeks and I wonder could somebody translate what's in my head into words (!) or let me know if what I'm describing is possible. Anyway, we have two floor to ceiling built in bookcases and as we are going more open plan with the rooms, we...

Landlord wont supply his pps no. to claim tax back

I don't really see why the tenant should pay for bad investments. If they are paying the market value for rent then the rest is the landlord's problem including paying taxes.

anyone been to electric picnic with a baby?

I really don't see what that has to do with the whole issue! She's talking about going to electric picnic! Where does alcoholism come into that? When the other poster told her to live her life I think she was referring to the OP's question about electric picnic not standing under the canal...

Is it legal to raffle your home?

I saw an episode of Oprah before where a couple asked people to write an essay explaining why their home would be desirable/dream home along with a $100 cheque. The winner got a home for $100 and the couple made more than what they could have at auction/on the market. Don't think it would work...

    Motorists splashing pedestrians.

It happened to me walking to work one day, makes no odds to some drivers once they are in their nice warm cars!! I spent the rest of the day drying out because some tunnel vision twat couldn't use his head! Some drivers don't get the fact that pedestrians were there first.

Advice on honeymoon destinations - Jan 09

I stayed in the Author's Guesthouse when I was in Key West, absolutely loved it, each room is named after an American writer and styled in a completely different way. It's so chilled out in Key West and they have the celebration of the sunset every night with street performers etc. There is...

Tiling over concrete AND wood floor

I can't take up the timber as it's nailed into joists and then there's a huge gap under the boards, I'm expecting to find maps and treasure in there! So if I just nail down the ply on the floorboards and then pour leveling compound on the rest of the floor to meet the ply that should work...

Hope somebody can help me. Planning on tiling the kitchen floor in my ramshackle 50's house before I put my new kitchen in. About 2/3 is concrete and then the rest is wooden floorboards, it's actually pretty level as it is, I'm just not sure what to do that will keep it level! In the bathroom I...
