KBC Launch Free Current Account, 4.00% Regular Saver and 1.40% Term Deposit

I went in to the KBC site today to check whether the Flex Regular Saver Account is still available and I was not able to see this product mentioned anywhere. Does anyone know whether it has been already discontinued? It seems strange that they would discontinue so soon after the October...

life company wants to increase my premiums!

Can anyone tell me what are the criteria by which banks assign insurance policies to mortgages? Why are some policies acceptable to banks and others not - surely the bank is just interested in the value of the life cover? What am I missing?

    PTSB Email - account blocked

I have been receiving these for a while. They seem to go to my spam box directly all the time. I always take the time to marl these messages as 'phishing scam' using the categories the email provider makes available. Not sure that it is useful, just hoping it is.

    LPT website not working

Hello Meepman - it happened to us as well. It looks like the website is not working, but if you wait long enough, then it finally completes the upload and you can proceed to the next screen. The problem is that it also freezes in your credit card payment screen, so I am not sure if I have paid...

Analysis that will terrify depositors in Pillar Bank.

Is this about the Reggie Middleton blog in which he mistakenly thinks Allied Irish Banks is the same as Anglo Irish Bank (he calls Anglo Irish AIB)? http://www.boombustblog.com/blog/item/9049-are-you-about-to-get-cyprusd-in-ireland?-when-a-single-words-worth-billions-of-euros[/URL] Trying to...

    Views on AIB card reader.

Hello everyone, so it looks like the card readers are going to be compulsory for everyone to use, as the code cards will be disabled on Sept 30th. Any updates on how efficient it is to use these devices?

Hello Corinthion - I have a tracker with PTSB, but I always pay on first of the month. I received a letter from PTSB during the week saying that next payment will be subject to latest ECB interest cut. I expect you have received it too.

Household charge website seems to be working better now, but it's not perfect yet

hello Brendan, the captcha turned out to be awful. I lost count of how many times it took. At least 20, and it is not clear whether one has misread the words or whether the password or user ref. has a mistake. The whole process took an hour. (As regards the audio option, why was this recorded in...

Thanks for the update, Brendan. I am going to register for our house and that of a relative of mine this week end. Hopefully my experience will be as smooth as yours. Will post if any issues.

    Splashbacks - Tiles or Glass

It's tiles for me too. Tiles are much easier to clean and they seem more resistant/durable than glass.

    Long term parking Dublin Airport

I am a user of the red/blue DAA car park. Never any trouble with the shuttle, the payment going through or anything. I think it is quite convenient and relatively quick. Access is via electronic reading of your reg plate (it has always worked for us). However, make sure you have the card you use...

Retention of documents for Tax Purposes

There are other posts around askabout money related to this. I thought that P60's are to be kept 'forever', but there are other documents that you may only need to keep for about 10 years.

    Petrol in Diesel Car

Dodo - hope you have already called the AA (or equivalent). Apparently the decontamination must be done as soon as possible to be able to save the engine. And - by the way - I am told that the value of the car is 0 as a consequence of wrong fuel being used.

    Selling a flat in Budapest

Does anyone know if the apartment complex to which the original poster referred has been completed? Was this as disastrous as announced in some of the postings?

I'd say it could depend on the dimension of the bag as well.

    health screening

I have booked the Mater Private screening through a scheme offered by the company I work for. I chose an appointment for May. The advantage is that you can have a lot of tests done in just half a day. Not sure why the screening at Blackrock costs more, perhaps you can ask for a list of the tests...

Used Fiat Punto..is it worth it?

I have had garage people recommend Punto over Japanese cars, actually. I find it is a bit of a myth that mechanics would recommend micra or yaris over punto.

When to file tax returns and how

I find that the CRO website has lots of info. Try http://www.cro.ie/ for more info. If you find nothing useful, you can try the CRO office number. Once you give them your company registration number they will be able to help.
