    ideas for cruise holiday

Friends of mine go on 2 cruises a year, last October they did a tour of the Greek islands which included a stop off in Turkey somewhere too. They said it was the best cruise they ever went on. The places they stopped off at were so interesting and beautiful. Plus they had great weather. They go...

A cushy number: easiest job you've ever had

About 10 years ago I was temping in England. I got this one job which lasted 2 weeks. It involved hanging around in this guys house while he was on holiday. He basically gave me the key and I turned up every day 9-5. I had to keep an eye on his email and post any emails from this particular news...

After school study paid for - can school withhold facility?

Seems a shame to fall out with the school so close to the end. Your son is an adult. I would suggest that he go and speak to his principle and outline the reasons why he feels he will get more study done at home. If he approaches it in a mature logical way I can't imagine the school will be...

Package camping holiday for family abroad?

The supermarket was big and had everything we needed. The journey to the park involved 2 buses and a 1/2km walk and took about 2 hours. It was a bit stressful because we didn't know before we set out what buses to get but we just asked the drivers and they were very helpful. We changed at...

Package camping holiday for family abroad?

We didn't hire a care. We used public transport to get from the airport to the park and a taxi on the way back. everywhere was within walking distance and there was a supermarket on the park.

Christmas Charity Appeal in the workplace

like Cubman I would also decline to donate to a denominational charity. What about doing a food collection and then donating the food to a woman's shelter or a homeless shelter. This way every penny spent actually goes to those in need.

    Could you move back home?

I couldn't because my sister and her family are already there. We could move in with my MIL. she just lives down the road, kids could stay in the same school and all that but BIL moved back in there last week so there would be no room for us there either. I'd hate to leave my own home though...

    Fostering kids??

Hubby is keen to foster so we recently had a Social worker come and talk to us about it. We were told that we would need a spare bedroom and they wouldn't allow us to put our 2 kids (girl aged 4 and boy aged 7) together so that the third bedroom was free for the foster child. They also said...

    Where were you on 9/11?

I was working in a preschool which was attached to a house. The lady who lived in the house came in to tell me what had happened and then kept coming in and giving me updates. I must admit I left the kids unsupervised for a minute and went in to watch a bit of Sky News. The father of one of my...

Is there a black hole posing as your washing machine?

Look logically there is no black hole. I very rarely lose socks in the laundry and it's just because of my system. First you have to empty the laundry basket and was everything in it. Then when you hang the clothes out to dry hang the pairs of socks beside each other and when they are dry roll...
