    BUPA leaving Ireland

Re: Bupa leaving Ireland All Fermoy jobs lost I only switched over earlier this year. I was really happy with Bupa, but even a few extra quid in my pocket was worth the move. Have had no problems with Vivas so far.

    BUPA leaving Ireland

Re: Bupa leaving Ireland All Fermoy jobs lost Vivas have 99% consultants participating, just like Bupa and VHI.

    Bupa

BUPA Ireland are currently challenging the introduction of [broken link removed], and have threatened to pull out of the Irish market if it goes ahead. VHI are, naturally, are [broken link removed]...

Annual Travel Insurance for Worldwide Cover

VHI do [broken link removed], which I think is what the OP is asking about. is another option. Again with the reminder to check with your current insurer, though, SamD, to make sure you'll have continuity of cover when you return.

    Bupa

If you're on Health Manager Starter, you only have cover for 8 private hospitals. From my new VIVAS brochure: We cover 121 hospitals and treatment centres We fully cover 26 MRI scan centres - our nearest competitor covers only 11 We fully cover 3 PET/CT scan centres - our nearest competitor...

Annual Travel Insurance for Worldwide Cover

Make sure that your current insurer recognises whoever you choose for continuity of cover. You don't want to land back in Ireland only to find that whoever you choose isn't recognised and that you'll have to serve your waiting periods all over again.

    Bupa

I was with VHI for years before I switched to BUPA, and I found that BUPA were cheaper, more efficient, and far more pleasant. Never had any problems with them. I switched to [broken link removed] last month, as they're cheaper than BUPA again, and my premium would be going up again with BUPA...

Current company closing, contracts being bought by new company

Hi all, As I can't name companies, this might seem a little vague, so apologies in advance. The company where I currently work is shutting up shop, and one of our clients is taking their business to a new provider. The new provider has agreed to buy the contracts of everyone working for the...

    Vivas vs. VHI

I've also been on to Vivas because I'm also thinking of switching, and had pretty much the same questions as you, Harvey. The girl I spoke to there told me that they currently have 2% of the market (VHI have something like 75%, I think she said), their numbers are growing all the time, and...

Higher charges for insured patients ?

Were you both admitted as inpatients, or were the scans conducted as an outpatient procedure? Was the MRI carried out by the same radiographer? Did one of you need a contrast agent administered? Were you both seen at the same time? It seems odd that someone with no private medical insurance...

Health Insurance & Maternity Cover what is the best plan and health insurance co?

Ouch! That's scary... BUPA have the highest grant for delivery in a private hospital on the plans I'm looking at. I'm on BUPA's Essential Plus at the moment, and they give €2,800 toward your accommodation if you go private, whereas Vivas give €2,700 on their Level 2 and VHI give €2,100 on...

Health Insurance & Maternity Cover what is the best plan and health insurance co?

Re: Health Insurance & Maternity Cover First of all you need to decide what type of hospital accommodation cover you want on your health insurance in the first place, and then look at the maternity benefits from there. In other words, if you were to go into hospital for any reason other than...

An Post Opening Hours and service

I discovered when I used to work from home that An Post rarely bothered to even try to deliver parcels. On several occasions a we-couldn't-effect-delivery note came through the door with the regular post, clearly delivered by the postman without anyone even trying to get the package to me...

Workers' Rights re Method of Salary Payment

You wouldn't happen to be one of the Irish Rail workers resisting electronic payment because they'd lose out on the extra hour they get off to cash or lodge their cheques, would you? :p
