    Mortgage increase

Thanks for all the replies folk. Yeah Clubman, been to previous AGMS (like that did us all a lot of good  ) & next one not for another 9 months, so don't think that will sort it out any time soon which is what I'd like. I was just hoping against hope, that someone else had...

    Mortgage increase

EBS seem to be putting up the mortgage every month, with the letter that comes out stating that it's due to the cost of raising funds, so nothing to do with the ECB. Are all other financial institutions doing the same thing, (i.e. increasing the mortgage rate every month) or is it just the...

    Learner Driving in Housing Estate

What happens if someone unfamiliar drives into the estate, i.e. drives IN, and not reversing around the corner and has cars on the road parked on corners obstructing views of children sitting on ground at the bumber of cars, toys on road that have to be driven around like and obstacle course and...

    grants for independant living

That's granted. Perhaps it could seem like that. However, an awful lot of the elderly are unable to get their entitlements, which is regretful because many of them are the ones that "did without" to make this country better. Now having done this (most through the Haughey era) they still can't...

    grants for independant living

There is a grant available, but from too much experience, unfortunately, I can tell you, they will not give it out these days until the damage is done. (i.e. all separately: a broken hip and a broken foot and internal bleeding) It is all the cut backs and it would seem that they only give the...

Can't attend work on account of religion.

Knowing a person that has worked in a company, where all were of this religion, I can tell you that it wouldn't work out for them in a Muslim company either. The boss/owner and he alone, went to the Mosque on Fridays and while the "service" was an important part, I believe it was the almost...

    House price €275, offer €255

From the perspective of a major hoarder, I cannot say your conclusion on this, can be altogeher accurate. Maybe the sellers have had major clutter and just started to de-clutter to sell and in the process have put everything into boxes just to make it easier for later. Not much point in cleaning...

    Premium club Point depot

Yeah, it's absolutely crazy. Even if you were to go to once concert a month and they were priced at the upper end eg. €130.00 or so a ticket, it still doesn't make much sense to purchase membership to this club as an individual. I think it will be more corporate bodies that will purchase these...

can you tarmac a concrete drive

From personal experience, you can tarmac over a concretre drive and the best thing is, because it has a base, it doesn't sink in the area where you park your car. Have seen drives where the tarmac has sunk underneath the weight of where a car is parked overnight, when it's been laid over topsoil.

What access do social welfare have

Garw - all I could say when I read your last piece was "My God!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Crazy. It costs nothing to be nice. We all have bad days, but jeez, take it out on the person that caused it and not on someone else. What can you do - you meet these kinda people every day. Ignore them, head up and...

What access do social welfare have

Hi Gipimann, yeah, I know that and knew it at the time also, but I didn't want to do anything that would cause someone to lose their job. If it had been a nurse or doctor or pilot or something along that lines that did something unethical and put someones life at risk that was one thing, but I...

What access do social welfare have

That wasn't very nice when you are already low, ill and feeling vulnerable. Power tripper I guess. However, you do have to deal with them and be totally honest or you could end up worse off. I'm not sure how much info is readily available to them on their p.c. but I do remember a...

    Legal rights boundary wall vents

I think you should put them out facing your own back garden if at all possible. There would be nothing stopping her from blocking them up from her side, if she were bad enough. And if they are indeed for safety, you need them. Believe me when I say, that you have been incredibly lucky if this is...

any experience of taking neighbour to court for noise pollution?

Roising, this is something that is desperate to endure and only some one that has gone through it can thoroughly understand what it's really like. And the stress of it can play havoc on your health and well being. I'd imagine that all the past evidence you have will be taken into account and...

Tenants want a new iron?! Is this a slippery slope?!

Hmmm:( While each person that has answered you so far has raised good points & I understand where they are coming from, I personally would not be too sure about replacing the iron. The repair of the press was one thing, it's basically fixtures and fittings. However, I'd be afraid purchasing...

    Restaurants in Castleknock

Re: Castleknock UGH  Just great!!!!. Oh well, I'm still living. Have to say, I haven't ever noticed them closed. Must have only been for a week or two. Gives a whole new meaning to "food to die for".

    Restaurants in Castleknock

Re: Castleknock Re; Take Outs, The Host Chinese in Clonsilla is definitely, from trying them all, the very best in Dublin 15 and they deliver. The food from Shimla Indian is great too. You can either sit or take out, but they don't deliver, so you have to ring and you'll be told when it will...

    Paying bridesmaids costs

It isn't the norm to pay for the Mother of the bride. Don't think any mother would either want it or expect it as they will already know that their child is under financial stress with the rest of the wedding costs. With the bridesmaids, it's been traditional to pay for the dress, the shoes...

Date of birth question on job application form

Re: Date of birth question on job applcation form I don't believe it's illegal. You are asked for your DOB on everything now. I assume it is Ageism you are worried about, because I cannot at the moment, think of any other scenario, why you are afraid to give it to them. So, if there is...
