Dublin Airport: Early start very long queues at T1 and T2.

"Another thing. You have to walk back to terminal one to get the bus back to the Quickpark car park. Why did they not put the bus park between the two terminals or allow a pick up point?" That's all of a 150m walk from the exit of T2 to the bus-stop,isn't it?

returned goods - refund less %

Doesn't look like you're going to get much sympathy here, does it? Agree with you that a straight yes or no makes more sense, but then again some tech retailers can employ staff who, whilst knowing the product, may not be the most gifted in cop-on.

What do you believe Ticketmaster provides for the booking fee?

    Recession in Norway

"yet a waiter in a restaurant would also get approx €1200 clear" That is around the same as a waiter on min wage working 37.5 hours per week would get here, and pay relatively no tax. Does our Scandanavia friend also pay little tax?

    Interesting Podcasts

For music, try The Word magazine podcast, full of tales from yore and usually well told. For books, try the Book of the Week from the Guardian or the BBC World Service Book Club. Both usually get top-notch authors on who are good talkers as well. Playback on RTE is a good catch-up of the week...

The 'mathepac made me do it' multi-faceted music thread

On a more positive note, what have you bought from this year that you would recommend? For me: The Black Keys - "Brothers" John Grant - "Queen of Denmark" Any others with "Made in 2010" printed on the sleeve?

    TV Studio World Cup Coverage

Have to admit, bit bored of the RTE panel now. Unremittingly glum the lot of them. Can we get vuvuzelas to blow in the background whilst they are talking?

Vuvuzelas: That awful buzzing noise at the World Cup in South Africa.

Reports on Twitter suggest the BBC audio bods have worked out how to lessen their noise during broadcast, but then you could hear Mick McCarthy all the more.....

    Thinking of buying a boat.

Sorry if this seems obvious, but you have hired a boat a couple of times, maybe more, on an inland waterway and enjoyed it? Is this the reason for your enquiry? If not, go for a weekend on one and see if the lifestyle suits. Boat owners on the rivers are friendly, and would happily give you...

    School books online

Do the publishers set a price at which the books must be sold?? Yes, they set an RRP. The discount they give to resellers is between 20-25% off this, so there is very little room for the resellers to move if they want to make any money.

Why would it cost so much to close down Anglo?

Alan Dukes on PrimeTime this week mentioned that a further reason for keeping Anglo open was to provide a third banking force in Ireland, keeping AIB & BOI from regaining the duopoly they had previously

    Musicians on the Late Late

Can't decide if Eddi Reader makes feel like I'm back in school or at a particularly dull wedding singing that song.

    Redundant - what next?!

Try and get some structure into your week. 9 to 12 - Job research 12-1 - Lunch 1-5 - TV, tea, depression Evenings - plan for tomorrow, if you can be bothered

    Imelda May at the Grammys

Agree with purpeller, the show at the O2 was great entertainment. Her backing band are class musicians, and she's not afraid to talk to an audience, which helps an awful lot in my book. Was that gold dress in the Grammys the same one she wore at the O2?

    Good movies at the cinema

Edge of Darkness is good, almost very good, but you won't feel too cheerful at the end of it all. Read The Road, and whilst I enjoyed it, really don't want to see any more bleakness. Avatar is a real popcorn movie, park your brain and enjoy the spectacle (sic). Went to see Cloudy with a Chance...

    Landscape photography for wedding present

I've always found that a picture is such a difficult gift to give, as it has to match recipient's taste & decor, and chances of getting it wrong are high. Try the Photography thread on Boards.ie for further ideas, if you still want to go ahead. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=27
