Lender says I activated my mortgage protection too early - options?

Edited, wrong thread sorry! Mods Please delete.

Mortgage protection assignment - will this delay drawdown?

OK great thank you, that's really put my mind at ease, as I'd read elsewhere that the bank need to have the deed of assignment fully confirmed and returned by the life company before the funds would be released, and was expecting more frustration and waiting on a new bureaucratic headache that I...

Mortgage protection assignment - will this delay drawdown?

Yes all else is in order according to the bank and solicitor. That’s great to know thank you, saves me another round of stress trying to chase more third parties! So will I get confirmation from the life company down the line that the cover has been successfully assigned to Bank of Ireland or is...

Mortgage protection assignment - will this delay drawdown?

Hello, I can’t get a definitive answer on this. Finally about to draw down a mortgage and have set up life cover, home insurance and signed deed of assignment with solicitor who has sent all to the lender ahead of drawdown. Once all is in order do I now need to wait for the insurance company to...

I messed up my house move - financial mess

Honestly, the way I'm feeling these days, I don't think I could stomach having to pay out twice to move the whole lot again from one storage unit to another, and then have to pay/do all over again for the third time into the/a new house. If it ever happens. The wait is just crucifying.

I messed up my house move - financial mess

Sorry just seeing this now, cost of storage is about the same as what our old mortgage used to be. So even if we'd stayed put for that alone we'd have been better off! We've tried negotiating with the storage company but they are out the door with custom so no joy. Still waiting on the new...

Estate Agent rushing buyer to arrange building survey

Tell the EA that a surveyor is impossible to pin down to a specific date because they're all so busy but you're trying your best to get it sorted ASAP. Not much he can say to that?

I messed up my house move - financial mess

Approx 5k monthly rent and storage costs combined since July - yeah, it's eyewatering stuff but at the time, we thought maybe 2/3 months max! Our old mortage was tiny and new mortgage will only be half that. :/

I messed up my house move - financial mess

It's a lot to me! Would have happily taken a price fall if we were at least still in the comfort of our own home which is why I was more inclined to stay put. And we're still not out of the woods so the tally's not even finalised, which is prob the hardest of all to stomach. The lesson is...

I messed up my house move - financial mess

No timeline in sight and progress is glacial, I've no idea how long it will take. No relatives living nearby and we are restricted to where we are due to schools and work etc. Honestly feels like such a complete disaster all round, compounded by the fact that I saw it coming as a worst-case but...

Still ongoing but no end in sight.

I messed up my house move - financial mess

I wrote a previous post about how I was reluctant to sell my house early ahead of a new build being ready in case the wait in-between went on too long. I'm notoriously risk averse and now it seems with good reason...

Revolut now offering easy access to ETFs including Vanguard - pitfalls?

Regardless of the taxation pros and cons, any quibbles with using Revolut to buy through? Or something like Degiro more reliable though you can only use euros I think so additional currency risk is a bit off putting.

Revolut now offering easy access to ETFs including Vanguard - pitfalls?

Pension locked into all these rules though, would like the option to cash out when/if I need to.

Options for receiving a large amount of USD

Yes, AIB does anyway, I got a call from them re a preferential rate pending receipt of a larger USD amount into my personal account earlier this year.

Revolut now offering easy access to ETFs including Vanguard - pitfalls?

Looks like an easy way into ETFs but no info as to how the 7yr deemed disposal works - do investors normally need to handle/declare this themselves on Form 11? Want to put 10k or so in, though Revolut seems to change T&Cs a lot which gives me room for pause. Any thoughts?

Buying a house without a mortgage but I want to pretend I have a mortgage

I think I get it. You’re drawing the dole so don’t want them asking questions? Hence the poor mouth.

    Party / boundary fence

I think you need to talk to them again but bring someone with you, preferably male, from what you describe they sound very aggressive indeed and acting out of order but it’s much harder to bully someone with backup and a witness too. Do you have another neighbour or a family member who could...

Risk of sitting on the sidelines in rental with house sale proceeds

Ha! Nothing at all to do with snobbery. I was only looking at short term because the area I need has min 12 month leases for regular rentals and even then there’s next to nothing available. I’m restricted to that area purely because of proximity to school and work and don’t want to uproot my...

Risk of sitting on the sidelines in rental with house sale proceeds

More than inconvenient at 20k pm tho? 4 months rent alone would be equivalent to a 10 percent price drop. Main risk I’m taking by not selling now is that I might not be able to sell at all in 3/4 months time but that seems highly unlikely too.
