Fair Deal/Nursing Homes Is it advisable to sell home when owners enter long-term NH care?

Yes we are enacting enduring Power of attorney at the moment. But I didn't realise the 3 yr cap applied to proceeds of house sale so that may be the route we'll take once we get them in somewhere. Thanks all!

Fair Deal/Nursing Homes Is it advisable to sell home when owners enter long-term NH care?

Thanks both. Unfortunately neither is in a position to make that decision; one was the guardian of the other (special needs)..and she now needs care (dementia) so follows that other will too. But the potential deterioration of the house is big concern, after finding suitable place for them of...

Apologies if this has already been discussed. I'm attempting to do Fair deal applications for 2 elderly aunts who can no longer live independently. The aim is to find a NH where both can reside together. They are joint owners (unmarried) of the family home. If & when we place them in a...

    Ryanair. Booking of seats.

I love Ryanair, I think they're (usually!) excellent value and what you'd expect from a no frills airline. I have been lucky to get the exit row seats on the last few flights randomly, by leaving it relatively late to check in online! :p

National Treatment Purchase Fund [NTPF] question.

There is a new clinic advertising recently called Dermview (no connection) that should take the GP referral. Patient would have to pay though as it's a private service, AFAIK. I believe the Consultants here might work in both the public and private sectors.

    Small bathroom renovation

I just got a quote for a bathroom renovation (approx size 2m x3m) of 10,000e. This includes tiles, labour, unit and replacement of bath with walk in power shower all from the one company. Is that the 'norm' now as I wasn't expecting it to be that high?!
