    VRT on larger engines

the environment is not on my list of priorities. my families comfort and safety are much more important to me. having said that, ill bet it outputs far less pollution per passenger mile travelled than your average corolla/astra etc crawling around dublin.

    VRT on larger engines

i drove to dublin last week in my 2. litre diesel and as an experiment managed to average 65mpg over 10 miles according to the onboard computer from it by driving on the m-way at a constant 60mph about 100 feet behind an artic. under normal heavy footed conditions it averages high 40's so...

When to repair or when to cut losses?

Re: When to repair or when to cut losses!? sounds like a bad earth at the rear. look forsome rust where the lights attach to the bodywork or alternatively a black wire going from the lights wiring attached directly to the bodywork. a bit of sandpaper will fix it

advice re solid wood floors needed from chippie

im not sure your chippie sounds very competent . he should have used the underlay upstairs .the reason the shop sold it to you is that it helps with sound transmission and makes the floor feel softer underfoot. also the floor should ideally be glued not nailed as nailing is not spillproof...

    nissan x-trail commercial

its still possible convert any commercial jeep back to passenger and legal too if you pay the vrt. the reason for requiring the seatbelt fixings to be welded up was to stop people taxing passenger jeeps for 250 a year by simply taking out the back seats for doe test day and putting them back...

Received UFH Kit but no Schematics - Advice

[broken link removed] if the above link is how you are supposed to lay it , it will be quite difficult to evenly space the pipes. you would be better off buying some rehau tracking from heatmerchants to use in addition to the clips...

    Doors & saddle boards

the 80.5 inches is probably prior to the wood floors if the floors will be solid you could achieve a 90 deg joint at the door by using biscuit joints. ie no saddle or ugly brass strip. just leave adequate space for expansion at the opposite wall.

    Heating problem in nursery

a double rad would probably not hurt but if the problem is that its not holding heat you should dry line the external walls with insulated slabs and then replaster.

    Kitchen applicances: Bosch V Electrolux

we had a 450 euro bosch integrated m/wave break after 6 months. they did send a guy out and then replace it but it took a couple of weeks . luckily we werent stuck as id never got around to binning our 10 year old (more powerful) 50£ one from a previous kitchen. imho they are a waste of money...

Where would i buy a saddle board

as carpenter said you can get them in any builders providers. they come in long lengths and you just cut them to size. rough cost iirc is about 10-15 per length. im not a fan of them but they are certainly preferable to those brass strips and probably a good idea in a bathroom. if you silicone...

    Genuine VRT exemption?

i dont think that is true. we have a car that was brought in this way and it just states on the reg cert that the car may not before x date without the prior consent of the revenue commissioners. if im right the op could buy a car with 6k miles on it and bubble wrap it for the year he has to...

    Extension quote

id say its the bit about leaving the house ready for use incl new kitchen that is causing the huge price. most builders dont usually get involved in that stuff and are probably bumping up the price to cover themselves you'd be better off to ask a builder to put up the shell and finish at the...
