Have to second that, missed our closing date twice, lucky it didn't fall through completely. Zero contact, documentation not returned to vendor's solicitor, agent contacting me due to lack of response, bank missing loan documents only discovered when I contacted bank to verify everyting was in...

    Inchicore/The Ranch

Hi, I lived on Sarsfield Road across from the Ranch for about five-six years. It's not too bad as emerging areas go, close to town (45 min walk) and Tesco nearby - it's not D4 though obviously. I always found Inchicore village much more unappealing at night but that was 2000 - 2006 and things...

Deposit Saving - in a nutshell-have i got this right?

Have you read the conditions - any money you withdraw that is lodged after the latest anniversary of your account opening date doesn't qualify for the bonus rate so effectively you get 2.5% or something for that amount i.e. save 750 for eleven months you get the reduced rate only. As Clubman...

    Purchasing ETF's - Currency issues

The price should reflect the FX rate anyway and Sharewatch give good rates in my opinion so it's not an issue other than your bank transfers.

    Dublin nightclub

My friend bought his wife and her friends a day\night out in the Berkley Court and they ended up drinking with O'Becks and Gordan D'Arcy so if that's what you want. It was supposed to be a great day there regardless of the Heat magazine stuff.

Is now the time to buy shares?

DCA is represented here as a solution to market volatility yet there are academic studies showing that to outperform the market using this technique would require extraordinary timing and luck if it is even possible. If you feel that shares\funds have value at a point in time you should buy, if...

using inward leg of return flight only

If you don't use the outward the inward is cancelled. It is not an option, if you turn up at the checkin desk you won't even be listed on the manifest. As soon as you miss the outward you are removed from the return flight and that's not an airline specific rule. Sorry.

lanzarote (car hire and wind surfing board hire)

Two weeks ago we rented a Ford Focus at the airport in Lanzarote for a week for €160 from Hertz. Other companies at the airport offered small cars for €100 a week. There were plenty of boards available too from places such as Enjoy.

    ETF Broker

I totally agree, they are ideal for anyone who trades frequently. I am looking for an alternative for my partner, she will be a very passive investor so no annual fee or minimum commission would be a prerequisite. Being limited to Euronext and Xetra is not a problem as she will only be buying...

EBS Building Society is to be reprimanded!

Where is all the ill feeling towards the EBS stemming from. Their stated policy was to offer the same variable rate to all members and until recently this was consistently near or at the top of the table for best variable rates. They have slipped since the introduction of tracker mortgages and...

Any stockbroker paying 4% on Deposits

The entire reason to pay interest rates above the money market rates is to attract business. A brokerage wants trades not deposits so I can't really see any incentive to offer rates above the market rate. If you want to make your 4% or more leave it in a bank and transfer in on the day of the...

Overpaying at the start - good/bad idea?

How do you know which bank uses a suspense account and still charges interest in full and which credits your mortgage account to reduce the interest due? I've dealt with a building society where the option was to either reduce the principal with the effect of reducing the term or the monthly...

How long journey on 747 bus from Busarus to airport?

Get a taxi, costs around fifteen Euro, takes under half an hour. I took the 747 once and it stopped at Mountjoy Square for almost thirty minutes waiting for a driver from the garage to start a new shift. It was probably a once off but I can't afford the uncertainty. The aircoach goes up Gardener...
