I think I am tired of being "Green".

I started being more like Victor Meldrew a few years back. Rather than being Mr. Nice Guy to idiots that I didn't respect, I simply decided that I would not give these people/companies the time of day anymore. A friend that I was always the one to contact for a "meet up" wondered recently was I...

    Aer Lingus Christmas Sale.

I watch a few destinations on a daily basis. Ryanair are having great fun with their prices. All over the place. Outwards flights down, inward flights up...etc.

EBS Building Society. Any issues with a branch near you?

I have a MoneyManager debit card that I use. I also have a savings account with them. I pop in to my local branch and top up my MoneyManager account with a transfer from my savings account. It's a very old fashioned system but it's what I like about it. I can also withdraw up to €1300 in cash...

DunLaoghaire/Rathdown digging up perfectly good footpaths.

This headline made my blood boil today. Dún Laoghaire baths project criticised by auditor after doubling in cost to €18.2m

    Excessive Heat in Supermarkets.

It is dreadful at the moment in lots of places. I actually have to think about the type of clothing to wear when visiting Dunnes Stores, I often leave my clothes in my car and just wear my budgie smugglers when shopping. :D I sometimes think it is done for the benefit of the staff so they can...

DunLaoghaire/Rathdown digging up perfectly good footpaths.

I live in Blackrock. There is a team of workers digging up the footpaths where I live and putting down new footpaths. The thing is....there is nothing wrong with the existing footpaths. No cracks, broken bits, roots of trees, etc. I have no idea what is going on. I have contacted them...

Dubray Books. How can they justify Euro/Sterling exchange rate being used.

We priced the Beano & Dandy 2024 annuals in Dubray books at €11.99. They were for sale in Dunnes Stores at €9.99, plus we were able to use our €5 off voucher also, as they are considered a grocery item. We were in Cornelscourt. Bought two of the annuals plus some non alcoholic beer. Came to...

Ryanair changed my flight times and they don't suit me

But Ryanair are creating this havoc. The OP had a flight mid morning. It is no longer available, so it has been cancelled. Ryanair say they will refund or reschedule when flights are cancelled. You have to get an email to say your flight has been cancelled before you can apply for a...

Ryanair changed my flight times and they don't suit me

Despite Ryanair saying that you will be contacted by email to tell you that they have changed your flight times, they have not done this. They have broken their own Terms and Conditions. The customer service rep in Ryanair then tells the OP that he can do nothing because they might change...

Separating from wife, looking for advice on housing

I think when the discussion with your wife about selling the family home and splitting the proceeds takes place, things will take a turn for the worse. It is only human nature after all to protect what one already has. I think that a level headed discussion about raising finance on your...

As a couple, are we right to keep everything in joint names ?

Isn't it hard to believe. Myself and my wife have an AIB joint account. To get a bank statement from their in branch machines, I can order one when using my bank card but the statement produced will only show the account in my name. If my wife wants to see a statement with her name on...

As a couple, are we right to keep everything in joint names ?

.....also check your health insurance policies. If in joint names when claiming, you may be subject to a family excess. If in single names the excess per person may be lower. Also, one of you might get sick more often than the other....so better to claim as an individual.

Prize Bonds are looking attractive alternatives to deposits

I already posted above how I have reduced my holding in Prize Bonds from €400k to €200k. I was winning about €600 per annum. I have invested €150k in the FTSE 100 high yielding dividend shares. To date, I have trebled the amount in dividends received than I would have won on Prize Bonds...

Prize Bonds are looking attractive alternatives to deposits

I have reduced my Prize Bond holdings to €200k from €400k, this year. I was only having about €600 in wins per annum. With €200k left, I have had no wins in months. I will give them until Christmas and if nothing happens then I am out.

Has anyone been refused boarding on a flight they had been checked in for due to overbooking?

I thought that Ryanair only fly the Boeing 737 planes. I am not sure where they would get a smaller plane or what type. I was on a Ryanair flight this year when a man boarded. His seat was Row 1, seat A. We were flying on one of the new Boeing737 Max planes and there is no Seat A in row 1...
