    St. Petersburgh : visa

That certainly wasnt my experience of visa application - I got the forms off the russian embassy website and posted it all to them in Dublin - they posted passports back with visas a week later - no need to go to the embassy and certainly no need to be paying these 'visa' assistance people to do...

    St. Petersburgh : visa

We are going to Moscow and St Petersburg next week and the process for getting the visa is still the same- need to receive an invite from your hotel or travel agent and then apply to the russian embassy in Dublin for the visa. That said - when we sent in our visa application to the embassy (via...

Is there an agreed cost of living figure for mortgage restructures?

This is quite good as a general guideline http://www.budgeting.ie/ - splits cost of living into rural/urban/number of children etc

    The mortgage to rent scheme

You wouldnt be renting your property back from the bank. The bank sells it to the housing authority and you rent it back from them. You would then be a local housing authority tenant. Your bank also needs to be signed up to the MTR scheme and not all of them are - have you asked them?

Home House flooded from mains water pipe burst

Thanks all - honestly, your replies have been very helpful and I want to give an update. The Council have passed on all the details to their insurance company who have been in contact with me and have agreed to process the claim. Their own assessor is coming out to the property asap. So that's...

Home House flooded from mains water pipe burst

I really dont agree with this. The council were out on Saturday and admitted liability. They are responsible for maintaining the mains water pipes. If a pipe bursts and floods my property is that not why they have public liability insurance? I rang my insurance company first thing on Monday...

Home House flooded from mains water pipe burst

iscritto - thanks for those links - definitely not our responsibility - it was the mains pipe out on the road that burst - the water ran down the road, through a field and burst through into the wall at the side of the house then into the house. Ravima - I am reluctant to put a claim in with...

Home House flooded from mains water pipe burst

Hi - the mains water pipe out in front of our house burst early on Saturday morning, flooding our house with all the ensuing damages. I went into the county council this morning - they seemed a) ignorant of any process to deal with processing a claim to pay for damage concerned and b)...

    advice re negative equity

That makes it even worse - you are struggling with your current repayments but you expect a lending institution to reduce the value of their security without decreasing what you owe them? Makes no sense. And, as elcato says, this is irrelevant anyway as BOSI are not lending.

MARP & 1st year has expired: How do we surrender our home?

That was a strange request from the bank - you dont have to be in negative equity to be in the MARP process, you just need to be in financial difficulty. Have you tried calling the bank and requesting another meeting with the manager?

MARP & 1st year has expired: How do we surrender our home?

This is a question for your bank to answer - I'd request another meeting with your bank manager. You cannot just walk away from any shortfall if you hand back the keys so if you are able to maintain a level of repayments you should do that and at least try and stay in your home.

What are the next steps after a MARPS agreement

44Brendan is correct about the SFS. kerrigan - repossessions have been happening because people are either not engaging (despite what they subsequently tell the media) and/or not making any payments. The Mortgage Arrears Resolution Process (MARP) is not an agreement you enter into - you are...

What are the next steps after a MARPS agreement

There is no such thing as "Post MARP" - you remain in MARP for as long as you continue to engage, co-operate and make payments. Write or talk to your lender now, not in november, and let them know that your situation has changed. You will have to fill out another SFS to show how your situation...
